@soulfulseeking @Thinkingschool2 You often find that those who say no or make any kind of professional query are the ones who are put on a support plan. We all know where one of those usually does up don't we?
@Thinkingschool2 Workload, a crammed and inappropriate curriculum in key stage one alongside the erosion of child development led pedagogy. Those are the things that did it for me. Not pay, yet pay is the key thing teaching unions campaign on. Doubling my pay wouldn't have made me stay.
@ahalive_com @StuHack73 That's really sad although I suspected as much. I don't expect to see them together or on tour again. I think Morten now wants to spend time away from the limelight. As a perfectionist, I don't believe he'd want to commit to anything unless he could guarantee it would be perfect.
@MaryWBousted I suggest joining the Facebook group 'exit teaching and thrive' as a research tool. It expresses the key reasons why people leave & the challenges faced by your commission.
So, I think the time has come to migrate elsewhere. I'll still check in on here every now and then but I don't feel comfortable supporting this site any longer. Find me here instead:- https://t.co/MjdkbQeLCx Hoping to see many of you there too!
@DanielKebedeNEU From my experience, many young teachers leave as it's not a career that sustains having much of a life beyond work. It's not just 'mothers' but anyone who doesn't want to devote most evenings and weekends to their work. Holidays are used for recovery and trying to get ahead.
@ambergambler_ My quote was 15000 for a bathroom that's barely large enough to swing a cat. Quote didn't include tiling as don't want any. Will be making do with what I've got. Feel your annoyance.
At 13:13 today, the sun sets at Longyearbyen (Svalbard, Norway) and will not rise again until 11:28 on 15 February 2025.
Could you handle that long without the Sun?

@DavidOlusoga Just watched the first episode. So well researched, and presented with such clarity. Social history is so important and I always look forward to your documentaries.
