With deep anguish and urgency bring to the attention of Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs (@nsitharaman) ji about the shocking incident that took place on April 27th at the Malliposi branch of the Odisha Grameen Bank in Kendujhar District. A tribal citizen, Mr. Jitu Munda, was forced to exhume the skeletal remains of his sister and carry them to the bank as proof of her death in order to withdraw his rightful dues.
This followed numerous unsuccessful visits to the bank where he received no assistance or clarity from officials. What is even more shocking is the bank’s attempt to justify this inhuman conduct by citing adherence to RBI guidelines. This reflects a disturbing intent by officials to hide behind procedures and abandon the very people they are meant to serve. In a democracy, rules are meant to empower citizens, not humiliate them.
This horrifying incident has outraged public sentiment across #Odisha and has also drawn international media attention, including coverage by the New York Post and the BBC. Though isolated, this incident highlights the urgent need for a more humane banking administration, especially in remote tribal areas.
Urge Nirmala Sitharaman ji to ensure clear accountability is fixed immediately for this shocking lapse. Also urge you to send a strong signal to all rural banks to guarantee citizen-centric service delivery with empathy and compassion. I am confident that with your compassionate intervention, such inhuman treatment of citizens will not be repeated anywhere else in the country.

Telecoms make millions in silent profit by telling customers to wait a few days again and again. They play with customer patience until people simply give up and move on. This is how unrefunded failed payments turn into easy money. @JioCare@TRAI@DoT_India@consaff@reliancejio
66 days and still no refund. Same script, no action. This is how Jio Care traps customers and gets away with it while authorities stay silent. @JioCare@TRAI@DoT_India@consaff
Customers lose money in failed payments and Jio makes money by delaying refunds. Small amounts from thousands turn into huge silent profits. No action, no accountability, only scripted replies. This is the real problem. @JioCare@TRAI@DoT_India@consaff
@doctorr39@JioCare@reliancejio No resolution at all. It has been 64 days and Jio keeps repeating the same template reply to wait a few more days. Two tickets were closed as resolved without refund. Still nothing.
It is 3 December 2025 and still no refund. That is 61 days of waiting. Only repeated template replies and zero real support. This is unacceptable and shows how weak the customer care system is. @JioCare@reliancejio
@JioCare Last week I was told on a call that the refund would be credited in 5 days. One week has passed and nothing happened. Now I am again being asked to wait a few more days. This has been going on for 62 days. Please stop repeating the same message and give a real update.
@JioCare@reliancejio Even aftr tagging every authority and gov handle about how telecom companies quietly hold and delay refunds, nothing happens. Everyone just sleeps while millions of customers lose money in failed transactions. No action, no accountability. @Officejmscindia@TRAI@DoT_India
Jio customer care is a perfect example of how support should not work. Agents keep repeating the same template replies, no one reads messages, no one checks details, and every conversation feels like talking to a script.
@JioCare I already waited 20 days after the last ticket was closed with no refund. How many more days do I need to wait now? It has been almost 54 days since the issue started.
@JioCare It has already been 53 days since the issue started on 3 Oct. This is not a normal processing delay. The ₹209 was taken from my Jio store credit & never left the Jio system, so thr is no reason for such a long wait. Pls give a real timeline instead of asking for more patience.
It has been 53 days since ₹209 was deducted from my Jio store credit during a failed JioFiber payment on Oct 3. No bank or TPA involved, yet @JioCare keeps sending the same scripted replies.
