Assam: Classes 5 & 8 will have examinations like that of Classes 10 & 12.
๐๐ฝ Students who fail in these (Class 5 & 8) exams will be held back in the same class.
๐๐ฝ Unlike previously, they will not be promoted.
๐๐ฝ Decision taken by the Cabinet. More details awaited.
This will have a very sad precedent. No doubt elections are fundamental & essential - but the education sector must receive importance. The sector in Assam has become void, also no concrete framework or structure. @himantabiswa must emphasize this during his term.
Moreover, the same Council has fixed dates for the HS Final Year exams, letting only 8-months for the students to prepare. To be noted, there will be holidays, and half-yearly, unit-tests held during this period.
Will Syllabus incompletion be a problem then? (3/3)
The worrying part is the confusion they created themselves.
First - cancelled exams in Dima Hasao only.
Second - asked if exams can be held in flood-affected schools.
Third - seek confirmation but holds no strong ground to make a decision themselves. (2/3)
Assam: Exams suppose to resume for HS 1st Year from tomorrow onwards. Primary subjects like Sociology/Anthropology are scheduled on May 28.
AHSEC, however, is yet to issue a proper notification on whether they will be holding or cancelling the rest of the exams. (1/3)
