The word for the day is temerity. We sometimes think that what we know is what we need to proceed, but most times we need to put on the brakes so we don't seem foolish or over-confident.
The word for the day is bromide. We have all known folks that no matter when you see them you hope this time there will be something interesting they have to say - everyone else finds them fascinating - you find them boring.
The word for the day is ostracize. If you get excluded by a group's membership you can feel all alone, especially if you are innocent of what you are accused of.
The word for the day is hobgoblin. Writers use mischievous critters like elves, gremlins, brownies, pucks to cause trouble for the characters in their stories.
The word for the day is acerbic. It's difficult to work for a boss that doesn't have patience to guide or teach but instead is sarcastic, ironic or critical.
The word for the day is cognoscente. If you study about a subject, work with that subject, research that research you may be considered an expert of that subject.
The word for the day is litany. Those of us who live with landlords usually have a long list of complaints or problems that need fixing or some call it honey-to-do-list.
The word for the day is sedentary. As we age the idea to sit for long periods while watching television, reading, knitting, or some other hobby maybe enjoyable but its not helpful for your health.
The word for the day is kibosh. Just because you start something doesn't mean you can do it forever, a true evaluation will show you, it has to stop or end, this takes courage.
