CYCJ in collaboration with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation have created a new eLearning module on Digital Safeguarding in Practice, to provide a greater awareness of the risks present for children using digital technology.
Children have a right to access digital technology and online information, and it is critical when in that environment they are safe from abuse and harm.
Key elements of this instance of learning are: building digital awareness, identifying indicators of online sexual abuse and grooming, promoting safe use of digital technologies and responding to harmful online behaviour.

How does the Restorative Justice (RJ) process work?
RJ is a carefully guided journey with stages like referral, preparation, supported communication, and aftercare – all delivered by trained specialists.
The process only proceeds when it is safe and is voluntary for all involved, offering a powerful option for addressing harm and fostering healing. Even the choice to participate has been found to be empowering.

Our afternoon session at today’s event kicked off with speakers Lauren Emmerson and Alex Hilliam who have shared their findings of the RJ Test Case Project.
Iain Corbett then gave us an overview of children and young people’s views of RJ - what they think of the process, the qualities of the ideal faciltator.
We then moved on to the next round table discussions to examine barriers and opportunities for RJ for children and young people.
