Our website provides you with a way to contact us as an alternative to calling 101
· Report crime, domestic abuse, road traffic incidents & more
· Provide updates to a crime you've reported
· Tell us about something you’ve seen or heard
· Contact your Neighbourhood Policing Team
Please check your phone settings after an increase in silent 999 calls.
An update to Android phones means that 999 is called if the power button is pressed 5 or more times.
If you wish to turn it off go to:
- Settings
- Safety & Emergency
- Slide the ‘Emergency SOS’ button off
Called 999 by mistake?
Don’t hang up – stay on the line to let us know that you didn’t mean to call and that you’re safe. This will save us calling you back to check if you're okay and means we can continue to respond to other emergencies.
#ClickCallConnect
No need to stay on hold – use our new 101 call back service.
If you’re in a queue when calling 101, we’ll give you the option for a call back. This means that your call will end and we'll call you back when our phone lines are less busy.
Only call 999 in a genuine emergency.
Similar to many other forces, we're experiencing an increase in silent 999 calls, so we're asking anyone who calls us by mistake to stay on the line and confirm to the operator they are okay. This saves us time and frees up our phone lines. More here: https://t.co/n5INwswnDi
We’re looking for full and part time call handlers.
