It is the genuine risk of the need for another Care Inquiry, that is of concern. Need to a strengthen oversight and scrutiny. Where are the regular updates reports to the JCC? Where is the commitment to external scrutiny the IJCI recommended and the States accepted.

I'm disappointed to see the only concrete proposal from Social Work England to address the retention, recruitment and workforce issues facing SWs is yet more research. We have enough research, health checks, longitudinal studies etc. already.

To put in perspective, the £200m announced today in the DfE's response to the #MacAlisterReview is 0.6% of the annual profits reported by Shell today (£32.2bn)

More context: Shell are "Gold Partner" of Teach First, where MacAlister trained and partnered while at Frontline.
