Survivors of #humantrafficking face the same persecution; often charged for crimes committed while under the control of their trafficker. That's why we need a trauma-informed criminal justice system.

After the Proud Boys’ role organizing yesterday’s brazen attack on democracy & the rule of law, I am calling on Doug Ford to clearly & unequivocally denounce the Proud Boys.
Silence is support.
@BTtoronto Good health and happiness is more important than any ring. His offer is respectable and the demands from the family place value in the wrong place. I'd ask "does she feel appreciated daily?" Thats the real sign of a good relationship.
Many survivors of #HumanTrafficking have high #ACE scores, myself included. But this shouldn't be surprising to anyone since traffickers intentionally seek out victims that are vulnerable and have histories of abuse and neglect.
If we want to improve the childhoods of Canadian children, we need to start by protecting our children from abuse and neglect so they can grow up in safe and healthy households. @UNICEFCanada
