@TampaTrader21@the_iceman64 26? My uncle was drafted and served in the Battle of the Bulge at age 18. Most of the guys were his age. There was one leader they called “pops” because he was 26
@LoAnne13428279@Her_Nonymous_D Hospice nurses are encouraged to go to funerals and the family is enrolled in a bereavement program for a year after the loss with the hospice
@KeruboSk My grandfather was born in 1888. I talked to him and knew him a little only because he lived a long time (until he was 91). I was 10 when he died
In the mid 1960s, the sugar industry was concerned about mounting scientific evidence that their product was causing serious health problems.
They formulated a plan.
They recruited Harvard scientists to publish a review in the most respected medical journal in the world.
The efforts of those scientists, along with the anti-fat framework laid by Ancel Keys, would reshape dietary adevice across the world for the next 50 years.
Saturated fat was declared public health enemy #1 and the sugar industry reaped the benefits of, arguably, the best $50,000 investment in the history of the US dollar.
It wasn't until 2016 that researchers learned the funding source for this review when they discovered the original documents in archives.
But a half a century of misinformation is hard to overcome and like it or not, most of us have been on a low fat diet for most, if not all, of our lives.
Time to wake up, people.
The alarm clock went off 10 years ago.
@languagetalk@XVanFleet She has an Amish accent-the people from this community sounds like that. They speak Pennsylvania Dutch at home which is a mixture of English and German
When people hear “diet,” they often think of wellness influencers. When they hear "cure," they're even more skeptical.
Ketogenic therapies are not a wellness trend. They are medical interventions that alter core biology, including mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter activity, insulin signaling, inflammation, the gut microbiome, and brain energy metabolism.
The ketogenic diet has long been established as an effective treatment for epilepsy, capable of stopping seizures even when medications fail.
A growing body of research suggests that ketogenic therapies may also benefit some individuals with serious mental illnesses, including depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia—sometimes resulting in sustained remission of symptoms.
I personally do not describe this as a “cure”; the word "remission" is fine with me.
For those who achieve remission after years of suffering, it can feel like nothing short of a miracle—regardless of the underlying mechanism.
Let's work together to reduce the suffering and improve the lives of people living with mental illness.
Doctors told me reversing dementia is impossible.
We've proven them wrong at a Paradise For Parents by using keto diets, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and more.
Now we're teaching families our exact protocols in our 1:1 coaching.
