@KonstantinaVK This breaks my heart to read. The contribution you make to this country and to us as a friend and colleague are immeasurable. Things need to change x
In reducing vicarious trauma and burnout, we need to create organisational cultures that support our ability to self care... A careful dance between individual responsibility and organisational culture.
Evidence suggests that 50% of Scottish prisoners have been in care!
What is prison, other than another form of social rejection for people who got the message young, that the world doesn’t want them!
No place to call home 😔
“It would not be right to stand here and not acknowledge staff who have been fighting for not more than the bare minimum”. How can we thank you enough for this brave and moving oration at Edinburgh Graduation today. @ucuedinburgh@ucu@sssn_edi
@mrmarkmillar The local honey really works for us too. We have been really struggling the last few weeks and Faith was miserable. Tried the honey and she’s almost hay fever free. Has to be local though as it’s almost like taking an antibiotic against the local pollen.
A colleague who will be sorely missed. Such powerful storytelling and insight that captured colleagues and students alike. Enjoy your retirement in sunny France Patrick!
🧵 Today we can reveal the shocking news that 1 in 6 people in Scotland face hunger due to a lack of money.
Despite living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, 1.2 million people in Scotland are going hungry.
This isn't right. No one in Scotland should face hunger.
Very big congratulations to @DrEllenStu this is a brilliant achievement and we are all very proud of you. Everyone with an interest in healthcare policy needs to order a copy now👇

Really moving today to see students at the University of Glasgow graduation wearing ‘UCU Rising’ sashes. One wore a sign around her neck with the words - “Renegotiate Now”. A lesson in dignity and generous solidarity.
Amazing ‘Away Day’ today with the team with a theme of Connection. Coming together to create, share and inspire. My main take away-even in times of stress, deep connection can happen when we allow ourselves to harness our vulnerabilities #connection#Brenebrown
