A proposed federal policy would limit loan access for nursing students and threaten pathways to advanced practice, research, and faculty careers. Take action by March 2: https://t.co/mV7n3rrd5e
thank you Congressman Thompson for making this mistaken policy public, and offering to help reverse it.This country needs and deserves well prepared and educated nurses.
Full list of degrees not classed as ‘professional’ by Trump admin - Newsweek. Thank you Jasmine and everyone who speaks out against this omission. It is not good for nursing and it is not good for the American Public!! https://t.co/8aHQpZXf1g
AACN & national nursing organizations urge the DOE to recognize nursing as a professional degree as it advances new definitions that will determine federal loan limits. Act now to protect post-baccalaureate nursing students’ access to essential loans: https://t.co/ecmELvC5qQ
✍️The Department of Education’s proposed final rule on the definition of “professional degree” makes a gross error in leaving out post-baccalaureate NURSING degrees. Advanced practice nursing degrees take a tremendous amount of time and energy and limiting federal loan opportunities to pay for this education will not help our nation’s nursing shortage. I am sending a letter to @EDSecMcMahon and @EDUnderSecKent asking for an immediate reconsideration of this proposed final rule to ensure current and future nurses maintain access to appropriate federal borrowing levels.

Affirmative action was never a complete answer in the drive towards a more just society. But for generations of students who had been systematically excluded from most of America’s key institutions—it gave us the chance to show we more than deserved a seat at the table.
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s recent decision, it’s time to redouble our efforts.
Closing out our two day policy retreat as @AACNPolicy Committee. Wonderful colleagues and new friends all working together to address complex issues in nursing education @AACNursing@UMichNursing @betty_rambur

Speaker Nancy Pelosi will go down as one of most accomplished legislators in American history—breaking barriers, opening doors for others, and working every day to serve the American people. I couldn’t be more grateful for her friendship and leadership.
“Today’s decision imposes significant challenges to delivering safe, equitable, and evidenced-based health care and threatens the public’s trust in the legitimacy of the court.”
