Why does she always have to turn a simple answer into some overly manufactured, unbelievable anecdote?

The Question: When asked by a child what makes her feel brave, Meghan answered, “My daughter.”

The Context: She stated, “Every day, when I feel a little bit like, ‘Oh gosh, can I do this?’ I go, ‘Lili would do it.’”

Lili is FIVE.

What exactly are these things Meghan, a 45-year-old woman, hesitates to do and then thinks, “Well, my 5-year-old would do it, so I can too?”

It’s the constant contrived storytelling for me. Nothing can ever just be a normal “organic” answer. There always has to be some perfectly packaged little anecdote attached to it. 🙄
