So many worlds, so much to do,
So little done, such things to be.

"We do not walk for today.
We walk so the ground remembers,
so the wind carries our names,
so the dead know we have not forgotten,
and the unborn find their way
by the fire and sound we guard from the past."

We walked to wake the Ancestors
Dzoɖuɖu: Pathways of Ancestral Fire is my MFA thesis performance, a ritual procession across KNUST campus that reanimates ancestral presence in civic space.
Blending Anlo-Eʋe and Asante spiritual traditions, we walked with …
We walked.
We called.
We cleansed with fire.

In the silence of broken tables, “AGBA GBAGBÃ ƔLIWO” rises,
a sacred echo of meals undone,
quarrels etched in shards,
and memories held by the earth.
Part of “GLADLY CHOKED PURPLE” group exhibition
set where a structure once stood majestic, now, hallowed ground.

A Griot’s Answer: How I Commune with the Tɔgbeawo - by Megborna ADEGBO Kalazɛ
You ask me how I commune with the ancestors. This is no ordinary question.
You have touched the veil.
You are opening a doorway that is sacred, (1/10)
If Ace has 100 haters, I am one of them.
If Ace has 10 haters, I am one of them.
If Ace has 1 hater, that hater is me.
If Ace has zero haters, then I'm dead.

In Eʋe, “susu / bui be" is closer to “reason” or “thought,” not exactly “idea.” It suggests a deliberate cause or reflection. So, “Susua nyo” means “It’s a good reason/thought.” For “idea,” we use “aɖaŋu.” E.g., “Aɖaŋu nyuie aɖe ma” = “That’s a good idea.” #SpeakEweNow@KafuiDey
Time is not lineal in Anlo-Ewe and Akɔm thought. It spirals.
Our debut album AFA NE AFA is still spiraling through you, released last September, but forever present.
Soak it. Return to it.
Time no be straight line. Time be spirit.

First, we must fight the war within.
We have been mirrors to our own undoing,
shadows wrestling shadows in a world that rewrites us.
To beat them, we must first beat ourselves.
Unlearn the fear they taught us to wear,
bend the rules they built to break us,
and sharpen our minds…

I offer, I invoke, I become.
With water, I call for peace; let the earth drink and be still.
With flour, I trace the paths of those before me; let memory take form.
With spirit, I confront what is unseen; let fire rise in resolve.
