@michaelharriot I agree we should have done whatever it took to fill that seat but I thought he did plan to do a recess appointment so McConnell never adjourned? I still think we should have forced the issue but that’s how I remember things.
Trump was convicted of 34 felonies for cheating in the 2016 campaign. He was charged with federal and state crimes for cheating in the 2020 election. If he lost this election, he was facing life in jail. Given this, it's fair to question whether Trump cheated in 2024 election.
Anyone's post-election autopsy that doesn't include or do a deep dive into right-wing media is missing it.
Inflation, immigration, crime were all better under the Biden Administration compared to Trump. But people FELT and BELIEVED all were worse.
Trump was a failure on everything, but right-wing media painted a different picture and those perceptions shaped reality for enough voters.
It’s about time the Democratic Party come to terms with the fact that a vast majority of the American public lives in a media environment — from Fox to Twitter to podcasts — that functions as a Republican propaganda machine. Ignoring this reality is no longer a tenable solution.
Trump 2024 votes = 72,560,841 (50.9%)
Trump 2020 votes = 74,223,369 (46.9%)
Right now he has less votes in 24’ than 20’ (but votes are still being counted)
So - is the story right now really massive realignment/mandate given Trump likely won’t reach Biden’s record 81M+ votes of 2020 and Dems haven’t won the majority of white voters since LBJ was on the ballot?
Or - is the story the roughly 13,404,080 dem voters who turned out in 20’ but not 24’ and finding out why?
To be clear: the way you find out “why” is to ask the voters! Ask the organizers what they were hearing etc? you know - just like people did with the “white folks in diners” in 2016!!! 👀
Election Day stop #3:
Back to Park Slope for a viz (and bake sale!) with @agounardes outside MS 51.
Don’t forget to flip over your ballots & vote YES on Prop 1 and NO on Props 2-6.
If you’re still deciding between voting for Kamala Harris or Jill Stein, please take a moment to watch. I made this video with Palestinian American and political activist @RaniaBatrice. We understand being conflicted but wanted to share our perspective.
Today, so much is on the line.
On one hand, we have HIM, a felon, a comfortable liar, an impeached president, a misogynist, and a non-leader who doesn’t care about anyone, but the top 1%...which excludes over 300M Americans.
And on the other hand, we have HER, Kamala Harris, a proven leader, a knowledgeable, lifelong civil servant for the people, and a compassionate human being with the strength to lead and navigate our complex government who puts the needs of all Americans first….a candidate with a detailed plan to take us forward.
What does a new way forward look like, you ask?
1. Cut Taxes for Working People
2. Lower Food and Grocery Costs
3. Lower Health Care Costs
4. Lower Prescription Drug Costs
5. Lower Energy Costs
6. Lower Costs by Protecting Consumers from Fees and Fraud
7. Help Americans Buy a Home and Afford Rent
8. Invest in the Small Businesses that Drive Growth, Innovation, and Jobs
9. Invest in American Innovation and Industrial Strength Powered by American Workers
10. Create Security and Opportunity for Workers and Build a Care Economy
11. Strengthen Opportunity in Communities Across America
12. Protect Americans’ Ability to Retire With Dignity
13. Make Our Tax Code More Fair and Promote Growth

There seems to be a major media blackout regarding Trump simulating multiple sex acts on stage in Wisconsin last night—despite the fact that it was a sequence of events so bizarre and unsettling many voters will deem it disqualifying. I can't explain this.
