As clearly communicated to the @jayfeely campaign, @DrAmishShah parked precisely where the @JCRC_Phoenix directed for security reasons. Faith-based organizations engaging in civic expression should not be exploited for political purposes.
My visit to the Museum of Jewish Heritage today was powerful. Three years since the horrific Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, I left thinking about the long history of antisemitism but also the resilience of the Jewish community in America and across the world.
Today, we mourn the victims of the horrific October 7th Hamas terrorist attack against Israel. We remember the 1,200 people murdered that day and condemn the persistent threat of hatred against Jews. We must remain united in rejecting antisemitism, standing with the survivors and working towards a lasting peace.
Three years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific terrorist attack on Israel, murdering more than 1,200 people and taking hostages. We remember the innocent lives lost, stand with their families, and reaffirm that Hamas must be held accountable for its crimes.
Framing violence against Jewish Americans as something they brought on themselves shifts the blame from the perpetrators onto the very people they want to harm.
That's dangerous, and it makes our communities less safe. We must reject antisemitism and intolerance in all its forms.
Arizona deserves leaders who put our state ahead of partisan politics.
That’s why I’m proud to have former Mesa Mayor @johngiles4AZ by my side as my pick for Lieutenant Governor.
Together, we’ll put Arizona first, deliver real results, and keep moving our state forward.
Pete Hegseth is coming after what I earned through my twenty-five years of military service, in violation of my rights as an American, as a retired veteran, and as a United States Senator whose job is to hold him—and this or any administration—accountable. His unconstitutional crusade against me sends a chilling message to every retired member of the military: if you speak out and say something that the President or Secretary of Defense doesn’t like, you will be censured, threatened with demotion, or even prosecuted.
Every servicemember knows military rank is earned, not given. It's earned through the risks you take, the sacrifices you and your family make, the leadership you display, and the respect you earn from the superiors who recommend you for promotion. From the moment I drove through the gates of Naval Air Station Pensacola, to when I was shot at over Iraq and Kuwait, to when I landed Space Shuttle Endeavour on its last mission, I gave everything I had to this country and I earned my rank of Captain, United States Navy.
Now, Pete Hegseth wants our longest-serving military veterans to live with the constant threat that they could be deprived of their rank and pay years or even decades after they leave the military just because he or another Secretary of Defense doesn’t like what they’ve said. That’s not the way things work in the United States of America, and I won’t stand for it.
In 1986, at just 22 years old, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. I have fulfilled that oath every day since, but I never expected that I would have to defend it against a Secretary of Defense or President. But I’ve never shied away from a fight for our country, and I won’t shy away from this one. Because our freedom of speech, the separation of powers, and due process are not just words on a page, they are bedrock principles of our democracy that has lasted 250 years and will last 250 more as long as patriotic Americans are willing to stand up for our rights.
So today, I filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of Defense because there are few things as important as standing up for the rights of the very Americans who fought to defend our freedoms.
NEWS: Sen. Mark Kelly is suing DOD & Pete Hegseth over what's described as their lawless attempt to silence a sitting U.S. Senator. The 7-count complaint alleges violations of the First Amendment, Due Process, and Speech or Debate Clause.
The complaint highlights that Hegseth already "prejudged" the outcome of his "investigation" by declaring Kelly’s statements "seditious" on social media before any formal administrative process even took place.
In the 15 years since I was shot, Mark and I have faced challenges we never imagined. But we’ve also seen what’s possible when people come together to demand change. Step by step, we have saved lives and made progress.
Mark and I were glad to share our story with @GMA.
Anyone do work with Tim Dahlberg? Seems he hates Jews. Wonder if he works for a company that has Jewish customers. He decided to DM so he must be fine making this public.
Sec. Hegseth's censure and targeting of retired Navy Captain and Senator Mark Kelly is unconscionable.
Military rank and pensions are earned through service to our country. They are not to be used as pawns in games of political retribution.
We stand with @SenMarkKelly.

Trump’s threats of military trials against political enemies have moved one step closer to a frightening authoritarian reality.
This is not normal. This is not what happens in a democracy.
This is the president threatening to retaliate against a senator and American hero.
We’re proud to endorse Arizona AG @krismayes in her race for reelection.
In 2022, she won by just 0.01% – less than 300 votes. A strong advocate for voting rights, reproductive freedom, and American consumers, we must get out the Jewish vote so she can serve a second term.
When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents.
In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much.
Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death.
If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.
The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.
This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."
They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous
🍎🍯Shanah Tovah! Today Jewish communities in Arizona and around the world begin Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. May this season of reflection and renewal bring health, happiness, and peace. Shanah Tovah U’Metukah — a sweet new year to all!
The unconscionable attack in CO is part of a deeply disturbing pattern of anti-Israel sentiment manifesting itself in antisemitic violence.
Connecting the dots on three recent events:
In April, a man used molotov cocktails, very similar to those used in CO, to target @GovernorShapiro's home on Passover citing his concern for "Palestinian people."
In May, a man targeted and killed two Israeli Embassy employees outside the Jewish museum because he believed they were Jewish. Once detained, he yelled "free Palestine."
Yesterday, a man used incendiary devices to burn eight peaceful demonstrators, aged 52-88, including a Holocaust survivor. He also yelled "free Palestine."
These three attacks are antisemitic violence. This is a pattern -- possibly even copycat attacks -- and it must come to an immediate end.
The American Jewish community is in pain. We mourn this loss of life and are reeling from violence. Arbitrarily attacking Jews only brings us further from peace.
Every leader who claims to care about the safety of Jewish Americans should vigorously condemn these attacks & take action to defend against antisemitism.
My message to all FBI agents and federal prosecutors who are being wrongfully fired by Trump: come see me about a job. We are hiring at the AZ Attorney General’s office and we actually support law enforcement. https://t.co/hGhRjusTWv
