Let me expand on my tweet below, in particular the Wayne Rooney statement.

If Wayne Rooney had stayed at Everton, the team would have been built around him. He was the main striker and would have undoubtedly scored a ridiculous amount of goals.

By going to Manchester United, he was a big fish in a big pond and didn’t always get to play as the number 9 and often sacrificed to play in the number 10 position, behind the main forward.

If Rooney would have stayed at Everton his whole career, he would have been the main man, and would have hit unseen figures.

To back my point up, when an aging Rooney returned to Everton, he scored 10 goals in 31 appearances. Imagine the figures a younger, fitter Rooney could have accomplished.

Wayne Rooney going to Manchester United was the biggest mistake of his career, bar none.
