Football fans from India are talking WC 2026, but Indian Football fans are worried about WC 2030 qualifiers, which start in Nov 2027. Agar aaj aap badlav nahi mangoge to badlav 2030 FIFA World Cup qualifiers se pehle nahi aayega. Sabse bada saawal ye hai ki agar ham saath mil ke saawal nahi puchenge sahi time pe to sayad badlav khabi nahi aayega.

The budget collapsed. State leagues are dead. Age fraud is rampant. And our grassroots development is a joke. Just changing the coach won't fix a broken administration and system.

It is not my team, it is our country. If you feel you need an incentive to support your national team, then I honestly don't know what to say.

Going by that logic, countries like Bangladesh should have no support either. Yet their fans proudly back the national team despite being ranked 181 because they love both their country and football. The same can be said for Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Tajikistan and many others across Asia.

Do you think every lower-league club in Europe plays great football? Of course not. Their fans still turn up because they love the game and feel a connection to their city and club.

Support is not always about success. Sometimes it is simply about belonging.

Khalid Jamil was appointed to take India to the AFC Asian Cup 2027 by grinding out results in the remaining qualifiers, and at the time, it felt like the right decision given AIFF's budget constraints and the immediate need for results. Khalid's coaching career has been built on getting results.

But he cannot be the long-term head coach when India's next competitive match is only in November 2027 and he is already using the Unity Cup as preparation for the SAFF Championship, while Jamaica, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, all of whom missed out on the FIFA World Cup 2026, are using the tournament to build for the future WC cycle. India now needs a project coach with international football experience, someone who has taken countries to major tournaments and can build towards the future, not just prepare for the SAFF Championship.

The national team setup also needs a complete overhaul. The goalkeeping coach, assistant coaches, doctor, physio, masseur, team manager, and the technical committee all need to be removed urgently.
