@ptcherneva The NV ballot measure wasn't a 'citizenship requirement to vote'. It was a requirement for photo ID to vote. It also has to pass again in 2026 b4 it becomes law. No paid opposition this time but there likely will be next time (they usually don't do it when it's 1st voted on).

@justincbzz Mail ballots postmarked by 11/5 and received through 5pm on Saturday 11/9 will be accepted (9 days left). Large batch on Weds then each day gets smaller than previous. This from past patterns.

@SwannMarcus89 Notwithstanding your point, which is important, Automatic Voter Registration in NV started in January 2020 (not 2021). NPs have grown since for the reasons you state. Also, look at the article title in the search bar compared to what comes up on the page.

@justincbzz Keep in mind, Halloween falls on the 2nd to last day of early voting and has in the past had less voting that day. Not sure what that'll look like this year since it's the 2nd to last day of EV.

@mgwccnv @Andy_Bloch The large increase in Nonpartisans starting in 2020 due to automatic voter registrations and some aversion by left-leaning younger people to joining a party has left him without the tools he needs to do his predictions when he used to be able simply add up D vs R numbers.

@mgwccnv @Andy_Bloch Additionally, mail ballots started to be mailed to everyone starting in 2020. That's driving him buggy too since more keep coming in past early voting (which was what he used to make his predictions). Maybe he'll get into modeling the NPs so he can try to keep up his show.

@tbonier In addition to GOTV, the article points out the Harris campaign's frustration with a lack of mailers. I use them when trying to decide on some candidates. I imagine those deciding on the presidential would use them too (i.e. those who don't follow the election closely).

@Quagmiro @tbonier Nevada is a closed primary state too. I don't think most realize that Non-partisan means they can't vote in partisan primaries. They just go with the default NP when they're not even at the DMV, etc. to register to vote anyway.

You can also look up a person's voter registration on https://t.co/lMIMkUZTtE. They're usually D or R; very rarely are they registered Nonpartisan.
