A significant step for the blockchain has arrived. On August 1, on its four-year anniversary, the Decimal blockchain started the migration process and September 4 - 95% of the functionality is already running on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). All interactions with the blockchain now go through the EVM, but functionality related to validators will remain on the COSMOS module, interacting with the EVM through smart contracts.

The development team has done a lot of hard and not easy work on the update to introduce a new blockchain to the cryptocurrency market considering the accepted initiative from CEO Decimal.

The block height of 22,372,801 was the first block when Decimal's blockchain is already running on EVM.

At this time, all necessary tests have been conducted and restrictions on the use of the blockchain network have been lifted.

The development team is now working on fixing minor bugs, adding missing sections to the console, updating the Decimal Wallet mobile app, and working with projects that collaborate with Decimal.

Dear Decimal users!

We are pleased to announce the restoration and improvement of token editing functionality in our network. Following the blockchain migration, we have successfully implemented the ability to edit token parameters.

➡️ What's now available:

Editing minimum token emission
Editing maximum token emission

ℹ️ How it works:

Go to the "Tokens" section in the console
Find your created token in the table
Click the three dots in the last column
Select the desired editing option
Enter the new value in the modal window that opens
Confirm the transaction

⚠️ Important note: Currently, the modal window may display incorrect data about current emission values. Up-to-date information is always available in Explorer and Graph.

🔄 We are already working on fixing the display of current values in the modal window and will provide an update soon.

Important Announcement for DEL Users on MEXC Exchange

Dear users, we would like to inform you about the current situation with DEL listing on MEXC exchange.

What happened:

After a recent blockchain update, technical difficulties arose with updating the MEXC node
This led to a temporary suspension of DEL coin deposits and withdrawals
As a result, the coin was temporarily removed from the list of tradable assets

What we did:

Promptly fulfilled all technical requirements of the exchange
Maintaining constant contact with MEXC's technical team

Current status:

Decimal blockchain news
We are pleased to share important technical updates on the Decimal blockchain. The development team has successfully resolved several key issues that will significantly improve the user experience.

Explorer update: full address mapping

After the migration, some users faced a problem with the display of addresses in Explorer, entering an address in the search field opened a blank page. Now the page opens with data, although not all addresses are displayed correctly, but there will be no more blank pages

Now in Explorer are displayed correctly:

- Addresses in EVM format
- Addresses in Cosmos format
- Current balances for all addresses
Why did this problem occur? Before the migration, some users worked only within the Cosmos module without performing operations in EVM. During the migration, such addresses required special processing, which we successfully implemented.
Improved transaction handling

The second important update concerns the handling of transactions via ABI contracts. We have optimized the process of sending transactions to previously unused addresses.

What has been improved:

- Automatic initialization of new addresses
- Optimization of transaction fee calculation
- Improved gas processing for different types of transactions

⚙ For developers: When using ABI contracts, we recommend applying dynamic gas tuning for optimal performance. If you have your own Decimal-based applications, make sure your code takes these updates into account.

Display adjustment in the "Delegation" section

The Decimal team found and fixed an error in the display of delegated coins in the console. Previously, some users were shown an incorrect delegation amount due to incorrect use of parameters in calculations.

What is important to know:

🔸Each token has two cost indicators:
1. Market price (for exchange and rate calculation);
2. Delegation price (for calculating rewards).
🔸After migration to EVM, the console incorrectly displayed information about stakes - the market price of tokens was used instead of the delegation price;
🔸A fix was released on Friday to correct this display error.

As a result of the fix, users may see a change in the displayed amount of delegated funds. This does not affect the actual number of delegated tokens and the accrual of rewards - the calculation of rewards has always been made correctly at the delegation price.

Deposits Restored on MEXC Exchange!

DEL deposits and withdrawals are now fully operational on the MEXC exchange. The technical work has been completed, allowing users to resume all DEL transactions in the SPOT terminal.

Renewing the markets!

After recent events related to stopping cooperation with market makers, Decimal team found new employees to the team. And after developing a marketmaking strategy - it was decided to update the markets and keep trading on the two main exchanges:
● https://t.co/lCaoixPATw (trading pairs: DEL/USDT and DEL/RUB);
● Mexc (trading pair: DEL/USDT). The exchange team said that DEL withdrawal and entry will launch within a week.

The remaining marketplaces, namely https://t.co/8UgtMf3oII and Tapbit will remove trading pairs to DEL. Decimal's marketmaking team is focusing on the venues with the highest liquidity and trading volumes.

Also, please note that on DEX exchange Pancake the DEL/USDT trading pair will remain, but without active marketmaking. It was decided to leave it at the discretion of users.

DEL trading is open on BitTeam

The https://t.co/lCaoixPATw exchange has adapted the EVM addresses of the Decimal blockchain and changed the address format from the old “d0...” to the updated “0x...” addresses

Coin Del is now available for deposit and withdrawal on BitTeam exchange in SPOT-terminal.

In addition, we are waiting for information from the MEXC exchange about the completion of work. All necessary data has already been provided.

Redelegate/Unbond functions improved

On October 18, a problem with the timing of token transfer between validators and redelegation was detected: the script worked with an error. Up to 10/18/2024 all operations were performed according to the old terms (unbond - 30 days, redelegation - 15 days);

Starting on 10/18/2024, all transactions already take into account the new deadlines of the changed blockchain tokenomics:
● Unbonding (Unbond) - 15 days
● Redelegate - 7 days

Address Converter

The conversion function on https://t.co/CdZLLw9OrY has been fixed and tested.

Over the lifetime of the blockchain, addresses could be the following:
● dx. - legacy address (not already present in the blockchain);
● d0... - old address format;
● d0valoper... - old validator address format;
● 0x... - new address format.

After the blockchain update, the address format 0x... - is now the primary address format. If you have lists of old addresses and want to know which address is in the new format, use the converter available in the Decimal browser.

Python API Decimal

While the Decimal development team is preparing a full-fledged API SDK on Python programming language, in DEV chat, Candy project owner (Maxim) offered his version of wrapper over JS SDK on Python API:

The market maker Gotbit has suspended operations due to problems with the SEC.

Due to the fact that Decimal had a contract with market maker Gotbit - it affected the trading of DEL coin. Trading was unilaterally suspended and trading volumes disappeared. Marketmaking has not been supported by Gotbit since yesterday.

At the moment Decimal team is urgently looking for a new market maker to maintain volumes.

A new week and new challenges face the development team. Yesterday we published a feedback form from projects built on the Decimal blockchain to prioritize tasks to work on.

Already:
● A bug related to the MAX button in the Decimal console has been fixed. Commissions are now counted correctly and properly accounted for when sending the entire stack of coins on the balance. This bug will soon be fixed in Decimal Wallet mobile app as well.
● The issue with displaying tokens that are no longer in the wallet has been resolved. Zero balances are not displayed.
● Many pages in Explorer have been redesigned. 404 errors are less frequent.

The following issues in Explorer will be resolved in upcoming updates:
● The primary domain for the Explorer page will be https://t.co/DClaNSfLrr. RU zone will redirect to COM.
● Validator pages are already being updated.

Unbonding script update

At the time of blockchain migration from COSMOS to EVM, users who made an Unbond transaction (unbonding) experienced delays in getting their steaks out of the validator.

This situation is due to the fact that after a change in the blockchain architecture, steaking processing now goes through a smart contract that interacts with the COSMOS module. A special script that manages this process is required to correctly execute the output of steakings on time. Currently fixing bugs - it was discovered that the script stopped working during the blockchain normalization work, which caused delays with the output.

The development team is already working on resolving this issue and the script will be restarted soon so that all unbond processes will be automatic, as they should be. All steaks from the transit balance that should already be on the balance - will be returned soon.
