What are you people doing to make money in this crazy times? Please put me/us on😔
I know this tweet comes up every now and then but as you can see I don't have blue tick and I'm not farming engagement I'm just a tired youth. If you see this please retweet at least ‼️
This generation needs to decenter this AESTHETIC mentality.
You’re making a video in your fathers house and you started with “ignore the background”, because e no get POP,
For house wey your papa sweat build.
You’re starting a small business but you want it to be aesthetically pleasing straight away, wasting money on packaging.
Everything we do now we want it to be AESTHETICALLY PLEASING.
Let’s just free ourselves from this shackles and live freely.
I watched a video on Instagram where Ibukun Awosika was being interviewed by the interior designer that just finished working on one project at the chair center. (Massive building beside my office btw)
When she spoke, she said “well I’ve had this building since i was 38 or so and I’d never really done anything with it…”
Omo na once I close the video, carry my laptop begin work.
I like as most of the women dey agree to the fact say the man started what he couldn't continue...so Men you do not need any other advice other than don't begin with an energy that you cannot sustain.💯
My colleague pays his wife for cooking.
He said he started doing it when they were dating as a way of appreciating her whenever she came over to cook for him.
She was very happy then and started coming over more frequently.
A week after they got married, she told him that he had stopped being nice and no longer gave her money after cooking.
He gave her some money during the early stages of their marriage.
Then she continued asking for money after cooking. He thought it was a joke, but she was serious.
He said his wife stopped cooking for one month because of it until he started giving her money again.
My colleague is a quiet guy who doesn't like trouble.
The worst part is that his wife doesn't accept anything less than ₦1,500.
Do you know there are so many offices in this Abuja where nothing happens?
These offices are properly registered, you go into them and you see one or two staff doing nothing.
They come to work everyday just to sit down and gist.
The owner of these places never comes to work, sometimes they come like twice a year.
Yet oga is very very rich, but nobody knows what gives oga the kind of wealth he has.
Most of these our big plazas in Abuja have offices like this.
Their rent is not cheap at all, very expensive.
Nigeria is really an interesting country.
I shared this negotiation strategy in 2023. Sharing again.
Two steps:
1. Pretend you didn’t have the full cash. Agree a payment plan of say 6 - 12 months. Negotiate fully and get as much general discount as possible. Seal the payment plan and pay deposit as required.
2. Go back after few days or weeks and say “Oga, you know what? I want to squeeze myself and empty my savings and possibly even borrow from friends to just pay the balance at a go, rather than over 6 -12 months. It’s not convenient but I just want to get this transaction closed. But I will like to request that you knock off N3m from the balance. Not convenient for me, but I may be able to run around and raise the funds within a week”
Most sellers will agree with this, having put their mind in receiving the balance in piecemeal over 6-12 months, now they want to give you at once. They may not give you the entire discount amount you asked for, but it works in high value transaction.
A friend I taught this negotiation strategy saved N8.5m in a purchase in 2023.
I’ve heard of people doing jazz when doing yahoo, i’ve heard of musicians doing jazz to blow, i’ve heard of market women doing jazz so they can sell, i’ve heard of Women doing jazz so their husband can keep giving them money, i’ve heard of shop owners doing jazz so they can get customers…
.
.
.
But…
I’ve never heard of anyone doing jazz to win sporty
So my question…
If Jazz can work for ALL THOSE OTHER THINGS.. Why is it different for sports-betting only ?
Selective Gurumaraji ?
Betting nearly ruined me during NYSC. This was me.
I was getting paid by the state government thrice other corp members but I was living more wretchedly.
I was on the verge of absolute ruin.
Now it doesn't matter how much everyone around me is making. Never again.
I appeared in court with a colleague who is desperately looking for a job, so I made a ₦10,000 bet with him that he should walk up to 5 senior lawyers and tell them directly that he needs a job. If any of them agreed, I would lose.
He went one after the other to 5 senior lawyers, and all of them turned him down.
After he had lost hope, we were shocked to realize that a senior colleague who had been sitting right beside us had heard the entire conversation.
After court ended, he called the guy aside and said, “I like your courage. Can you resume on Monday?”
That’s how I lost ₦10,000.
