Viktor Gyökeres
In a better league, playing MoyesBall & asked to bully CBs by Mikel Arteta
PL 2224 mins over 36 matches = 24.7 games - 25 games 14 goals 1 assist
CL 910 mins over 13 matches = 10 games - 10 games 5 goals 1 assist
35 games 21 G/A in the PL & CL
He’s done good
Arsenal fans, use your eyes to watch football. Gyökeres' fundamentals are not there, his technical level is too low for Arsenal. See how fluid our footy is when Havertz plays. We hold the ball better, and generate football better.
Gyökeres is great at striking the ball, but he needs it on a plate or straight down the channel with only one CB chasing him. We need very high technical levels in our attack if we are to win the UCL and retain the Prem. Dribbling, holdup play, linkup play, creating shooting angles, creating separation, bullying CBs, etc. Gyökeres will fail you in these areas because he simply doesn't have it.
Don't forget, Arteta wanted Isak or Sesko, sadly they were too expensive. Berta went and got Gyökeres. Thank God for his 21 goals, but we need a striker who would score at least 35 goals if he plays 56 games.
For context, in 2023-2024 Havertz played 15 games as the striker, and he had 10 goals and 7 assists. That's 17G/A in 15 games, 0 penalties. It was his own first season too.
Gyökeres had 24G/A in 56 games, and 4 goals were penalties. He's just not good enough and that's okay to admit. When you make a mistake, you fix it and keep it moving. We have a dynasty to build, we have trophies to win and we have a solid squad, we just need to be as inevitable in attack as we currently are in defence and midfield.
Another underwhelming transfer window like we used to know
No Martinelli clutch goals or assists
No Trossard clutch goals or assists
No Saliba for X months
No world class LWr for the first 11
10 man defence again it is then
🗣️ Taxi for Berta! #AFC#COYG#TransferDeadlineDay
If Mikel Arteta manages to successfully lead Arsenal to defend our premier league title with this punk guy Andrea Berta, he needs a statue outside the training ground at the very least.
It’s gonna be a long wait until the January transfer window 😩
What we will hear, “We tried, no one with the quality needed to add to the team was available. I’m happy with the squad we have”
It’s funny how a player worth equal to others being sold for £116m isn’t “available” for £75m
Andrea Berta’s head needs to roll #Arsenal#BertaOut
@HaytersTV@Michael2497_@charles_watts The most non-committal journalist there is. Always ends “information” with a disclaimer that it’s not inside knowledge etc
It’s David Ornstein or bust buddy
Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli Silva
A skinny Brazilian teen from the fourth tier of o jogo bonito, became one of us and will always be family.
He blossomed in Arteta ball phase 2.5 / 2022/23 where we ate well. Always remembered, never forgotten.
62 goals 36 assists of balling 🏆
The “engagement” farmers have started early with the usual copy and paste posts they saw elsewhere. They want 2000+ interactions for the analytics and algorithms 🚮
In: Bruno Guimarães, Ezri Konsa, Christos Tzolis & Illan Meslier
Out: Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, Christian Nørgaard, Reiss Nelson & Fabio Vieira
How would you rate our window out of 10?
How Chelsea made money on the £107m they (over) paid for Enzo Fernández needs a deep dive of an investigation. Immense work from them. If he was at Arsenal, we would’ve accepted a loan with option to buy for £45m 🙈 #FOYB
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City reach agreement with Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernandez. Package for 25yo midfielder work £125m so matches British transfer record. Argentina int’l granted permission by #CFC to undergo medical & complete #MCFC move @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/Y1bjwO8qsw
