Completed 15th of rewatch Your Lie In April, took me 3 days. It was every bit as beautiful as I remembered it to be when I first watched it in 2017. The first anime I watched. The first story that touched my heart. It was(and still is) personal, emotional, relatable and cognizable.
This is the worst example you could've picked to make your argument lmao.GOW entire schtick is its amazing combat and gameplay- this constitutes 90% of its experience which you didn't have since you never played the games. Story is nice too but even that is heavily tied to gameplay especially in GOW 1-3 lol.
Man I would have loved to play god of war, but I couldnโt because I didnโt have s PlayStation or pc as a kid. So I had to watch people like jacksepticeye play it because I couldnt afford a console. To call someone a larper for that is honestly classist and privileged
@KENOASTRAL If it's a linear cinematic game then maybe. But some games tie the story to gameplay very tightly,in that case you can't discuss the story unless you have played the game.
You won't believe how many people believe that.
Anyone can be a sports fan but their opinions on a player or team means jackshit compared to that of scouts, coaches and analysts who actually involve and interact themselves physically with the sport. Same way you can't be a fan of a dish you've never physically eaten.
why is this always about video games and not about anything else? like why don't we say โoh you're a big sports fan but don't play sports yourself? well how dare you call yourself a real fan!โ
This I agree with. But also piracy exists and so does emulation. I can totally understand if you can't play something right now but at least don't partake in discussions after watching a youtube video. Your experience might change when you finally play the game (my experience with Hifi Rush).
@KENOASTRAL I said that because that's what I keep seeing from people who staunchly believe watching=playing.
Life experiences aren't universal because interactivity plays a part just like video games hence watchers can't be equal to players.
No the whole argument is watchers forcefully trying to get themselves at the same level of players. You can be a fan but please don't think you can critique something that you haven't actively interacted with. And someone pointing that out is not classist/elitist. Don't hide behind those arguments as it's deeply disrespectful to actual poor people like me from third world countries.
