Bug Fix Notice:
DECOY has recently been made aware of a bug related to confirming signup emails and resetting passwords via browser URLs. Some users reported issues when attempting to confirm emails and reset passwords through computer web browsers instead of on the same device running the app.
It is important to know that this fix does not affect active emergency alert flows or wallet monitoring functionality.
The bug has now been patched, tested, thoroughly validated, and is now live.
Stay on the lookout for update release v1.1.5 on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, which includes better UX related to this patch. We expect to have it available in the next day or two, pending store approvals.
Emails can now be confirmed and passwords reset through computer web browsers, addressing the issues some users previously experienced with the Decoy Wallet App.
If you have been experiencing these issues with the Decoy Wallet App, please try again using a newly requested confirmation or password reset email. Open only the newest link, and update to v1.1.5 when it becomes available.
Thank you to those who have reported the issue. Because of your help, we are making a stronger and more easily accessible tool for users around the world.
Regarding future work, we are currently developing a web application and browser account access to mitigate complications like this across operating systems, in an effort to move away from operating only through a mobile app.
We appreciate your help and continued support.
Thank you,
Mitch
Hello Ryah, thank you for expressing your concern. The goal with Decoy Wallet App is never to collect more data than necessary. We only aim to use the information users willingly provide that is necessary to make Decoy Wallet App an effective tool in situations involving wrench attacks.
If you could specify your concerns and the particular data points you’re referring to, we’d be happy to go over them with you. We’d also like to point you to the public repository that the app runs on:

Decoy Wallet App is still a very new project, and we’re open to adapting as we continue building to make this a tool Bitcoiners feel comfortable using, while ensuring we are not collecting unnecessary data that could potentially make our users vulnerable. If there are ways to further minimize the information required while maintaining the effectiveness of the tool, we’re absolutely open to making those changes.
Looking forward to hearing back from you. Feel free to reply here or DM us with any questions, and we’d be happy to go over anything with you.
@DecoyWalletApp is now on @conduit_market!! 💜🪬⚡️
Amazing human, coming up for solutions for Bitcoiners, with a 🔥 design!!
He was set up right next to the Conduit Booth at @MWBTCSummit and Zapped out from our event market!
Used the QR code displayed on our table, paid directly to Conduit, all before we came down that morning!
Love that he tried it out, without anyone’s help, it’s SO easy!
Then I just handed him his shirt when I arrived!
So proud to see him listed and part of the open markets! 💓💓💓
Decoy Wallet monitoring can be a stealthy tool for multisig and passphrase users
Import the extended public key for the bare seed wallet holding your decoy funds
If an attacker gains access to your metal seed plate, your actual funds can remain protected while the chances of triggering an emergency alert drastically increase
This Decoy Bitcoin Wallet app automatically sends your location data to trustworthy contacts when you trigger one of the emergency triggers.
One of the triggers could be sending a real transaction from an original @Bullbitcoin or @BlueWallet app.👀
