I've seen a lot of Manchester United fans asking for Aurélien Tchouaméni, and yes, he's an excellent midfielder.

But does he actually fit Michael Carrick's midfield?

That's a different conversation.

Tchouaméni is more of a destroyer—similar to Casemiro. His game is built around breaking up play, winning duels and protecting the defence.

Andrey Santos, on the other hand, profiles more as an anchor. He protects the back line but also dictates play, receives under pressure and starts attacks. Think of players like Rodri, Frenkie de Jong or Joshua Kimmich.

Not every defensive midfielder plays the same role.

On top of that, let's be realistic.

Real Madrid have no reason to sell Tchouaméni, and even if they did, he'd likely have to accept a significant wage cut to join another club.

Recruitment isn't about buying the biggest names.

It's about buying the right profiles for your system.
