Stell on SB19’s Advocacy for Filipino Artists and the Future of the Creative Industry:

Stell said that throughout their eight years in the industry, they have always been an open book, choosing to be transparent when sharing their stories and experiences. They also acknowledged the challenges independent artists face in building their careers and growing within the music industry.

@stellajero_ talked about Senate Bill No. 2517, also known as the Philippine Agency for the Creative Economy, filed by Senator Bam Aquino in collaboration with SB19 and 1Z Entertainment. Stell expressed their support for the initiative, saying they were happy to see the government taking steps toward addressing the concerns of artists and the broader creative sector.

“We are very happy that the government is making a move and listening to us.”

Stell added that SB19 has always had goals and ambitions beyond their own careers, emphasizing their desire to contribute to the growth and development of the Philippine creative industry.

“We aim to support and help yung mga taong nagbibigay ng pangalan at karangalan, hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas but also outside our country. We really thank everyone. Not only them, but of course yung mga fans na tumulong din para marinig ang mga hinahing namim as artists na hindi namin nasasabi before, kasi sila ang nagsasalita for us. Maraming salamat!”

For aspiring artists who hope to pursue a similar path, Stell offered words of encouragement, emphasizing the importance of staying true to one's aspirations despite the challenges that come with the journey.

“For the artists dreaming to be here on this path, just listen to your heart. If ito talaga ang gusto nyo, there is no easy way dahil pagdadaanan ninyo ang hardships and yung hardships na yun ang tutulong sayo para maging strong…”

Philippine Concerts asked SB19: Do you feel a different kind of responsibility now that SB19 is no longer simply participating in the growth of P-pop, but also helping create opportunities for the next generation of artists?

JOSH: It’s not a different responsibility, but I feel like it has always been THE responsibility. the framework has always been there… hindi lang namin alam before paano iexecute because we had little resources… For us to be able to execute it, syempre kailangan muna naming anuhin ang mga sarili namin, magkaroon muna kami ng panggagalingan…as SB19, syempre doon muna kami tumaya… We tried a lot of times actually to reach out to different people, different entities, sectors para mas maisulong namin ‘yung mga gusto namin before. Right now, ngayon pa lang sya nangyayari. Our ultimate goal is to be as big as we can… na madidinig na ang mga gusto naming iparating at itulong sa Philippine entertainment industry. And not just for the Philippine entertainment industry, but for the Philippine economy… Yun po siguro, the responsibility did not actually change. Mas narinig lang kami.
