Privilege is such an interesting thing I often find myself thinking about. We do not ask for the life we have, and that is why I'm very mindful of it. You often find it a lot in my writing.
Last week, my cleaner told me on Monday(2 days ago) was her birthday. I asked her what age we are celebrating and she said 33. Epiphany hit me that my agemate is my cleaner. I wore a wry smile as I nodded my head and told her to remind me on Monday so she could get her gift.
I then went to my room to deal with the epiphany of privilege. In another universe, that could easily have been me.
@ThaBoyYom omo i don die..... how do you now find out the real truth, because every story she has ever told me sounds true and there's something i do where i ask almost related questions and topics just to see how consistent her answer is with what she has said in the past before
You didn’t think this through, did you?
Men have roughly twice the sustained physical output of women and consistently outperform women in high‑stress tasks.
There’s solid scientific evidence and abundant data on this.
On top of that, only men are in frontline combat and the most dangerous, grueling civilian jobs; construction, mining, oil drilling, firefighting, all with far higher fatality rates and brutal conditions.
Comparing menstrual cramps to the physical demands of combat or firefighting? That’s peak comedy 🤡
Anyone who downplays male suffering doesn’t respect men or the roles they carry and should not be taken seriously.
What baffles me about the whole marriage and what both parties are bringing is…
Women tell you cooking/cleaning/sex and birthing children are ‘unpaid labour’.. Some even outrightly tell you “I GAVE YOU CHILDREN”(insinuating that should be enough as what she’s bringing to you)
But check it, why is it that when the marriage goes south, how come the Man’s duties almost never stops ?
Everything she claims to bring stops while the things the Man brings continue ?
Even at the point of divorce, court still orders the Man to be taking care of the children + their Mom.. And in most cases, still allow the mother take the kids(same kids they claim they GAVE TO HIM)
He’s still providing, paying sch fee, clothing and all.. EVEN WHEN THE SAID MARRIAGE IS OVER.
Now let’s flip!
.
.
.
At the point of divorce, court NEVER orders the Woman to still go and be sleeping with the Man(since they claim they bring sex)
Court never compels her to come and continue cooking and cleaning for the Man.
Apparently, your duty never stops as a Man while hers ceases automatically and entirely lol smh.
See…
As a Man in this modern era, you’ll be such a stupid fool to accept a ‘My body is what I bring to the table’ Woman.. or the “I gave you children” Woman… or the “My money is my money” woman.
You’ll be such an idiot to accept such I promise you.
So if she had successfully married for 5yrs, secured her bag… maybe give birth and later leave the marriage
- Do you think when the kids grow and start asking of their dad, she’ll tell them “Actually your dad was family oriented, I just used him for financial gains and left him” ?
- All the Ladies planning to get pregnant for a rich guy just to escape hunger.. Do you think they still won’t play victim in front of the kids ?
- Do you think the people that got pregnant from one-night-stands will indeed tell the kids ‘I was doing obleee when one baller sare sha mi je and I gave birth to you’ ?
- The ones that got married just to travel aboard and divorce later, do you fvcking think the children will ever get to hear the real stories from the mothers ???
- The ones the husband caught cheating/did DNA and found out child wasn’t his, do you think the mothers will tell the kids “I cheated on your dad then he left me.. and you were the outcome” ?
.
.
.
Brethren, the farther of those children will automatically become ‘bad fathers/deadbeats’ that abandoned them..
And that’s how the kids will grow up with the story for life.
I repeat..
Speak to your dads(if he’s still alive) and do personal research on your “father’s side”.
One day, a brother reached out to me that her sister in UK is in abusive marriage that even as it stand, her husband threaten not to put her and their child on post study visa (their student was about to expire then).
This brother sound so concern and as someone who have a married sister, I was so concern too. I didn’t know what to do, and I don’t want to give wrong advice.
So I called @Abdul_Taj001 and @faisally01 and added the brother on the call, the brother narrated everything all over again for both TJ and Faisal, so Faisal suggest that we add the victim on the call to hear from her. Her brother added her and she talked as well, she was talking and crying, all of us were so concern and suggestions started flowing in, at the end, we concluded that since they have a child together and that child was born in the UK, she should go to social workers with the child that she’ll definitely get help and all. We follow the case and everything was going fine, something in me just said I should request to speak to the husband, then I asked her to give me her husband’s number which she sent.
I called the man, greeted him and he responded calmly to my greetings, I said I was calling on behalf of his wife and I explained everything the wife said to him. He sighed, heavy sigh o and he asked if I’ve time to have a lengthy conversation and I said yes.
He started from how he struggled financially to bring her from Nigeria to the UK, they relocated on study visa. He sold everything he had, this lady didn’t drop a naira, in fact her nonchalant attitude made her missed flight, her excuse for missing the flight was because she’s pregnant, so he had to book another flight for her (he arrived Uk first as per student). The lady arrived and started working full time, and she refused to support her husband who can only do 20hrs job and still has school fees to pay.
She has arrested the husband 3 times
After given birth, she stopped having sex with the husband (husband started having sex with someone else).
She stopped cooking and started eating out.
All of these started the moment she started earning.
For every allegation that husband laid against her, he back it up with chat screenshots, voice notes, pictures and police cases (she lied against him and arrested him 3 times)
At some point the police asked him to leave the house that he’s a threat to his wife and their child.
Everything the lady said to us that the husband was doing to her, husband counter everything with facts, the only thing he admitted was having sex with someone else.
After the police asked him to leave the house, he left and never looked back, reality down on her, she started struggling alone with her child, which now affected her work, she couldn’t work longer hours again and money no dey again. And even if she was able to work, most of her salary now goes to nanny who babysit the child for her. And to crown it all, the husband didn’t reach out to her at all which was something she didn’t expect.
She added one plus one together and concluded in her head that her husband might not want to put her on post study visa due to all that happened which was the reason she came to lie to us.
To the video here, no one know what happened between this one and her husband, but if not that women has become a threat to the husband’s wellbeing and visa status, men in the UK hardly remove women from their visa, even if we are being factual, it’s women who are quick to report their husbands to home office and have them removed from visa. There are so many broken marriage in UK where husband is the main applicant on visa and the wife still remain dependent till now even though they’re separated, but I can’t say the same for visa where wife is the main applicant.
No matter the level I get to, i’m not a ‘catch’
I’ve never had to spend what i’m not supposed to spend just to feel good about myself
When around me, you will come correct, it’s not a request, it’s a demand.
My EGO is intact I promise you.
I didn't want to say anything because wokeness has killed this generation. The sad part is that, people think money can fill up every gap.
In communal society like ours, the men wake up early to run errands, set up canopy, slaughter the animals, and drink beer or palm wine. The women gather together to cook and catch up.
I do not understand how your mom, your sister, your brother's wife, your in-laws, are cooking, but only you or your wife(depends if you're male or female) would stay away because you have money. This is not a flex.
It is a different thing if the entire family decides to outsource everything. Either everybody is working together or nobody is working. We are too classist as a people, and it is embarrassing. Na your own family you wan lord over? If you like come from London or NewYork or have N10billion in your account, family time is family time, and everyone should roll up their sleeves and do their part. It is sad that many of you worship money. It is sadder that many of you have money and want to be worshipped.
You don't need a parachute to be down to earth
