@GmusicV@BirdGuides We spent a good chunk of the visit in the car, during a spectacular hail and thunder storm. But I donโt think it lasted long enough to draw anything in afterwards. Good luck if youโre there today.
Finally saw my bogey bird yesterday after years of hearing but never seeing one. Walking the slopes of the Blorenge, I watched a GS woody in flight, then suddenly in the distance there it was - Cuckoo! And not just fleeting but good views for several mins #birds#birdingWales
Lovely morning and company with GOS at Goytre woods and canal. Year ticks for Stock Dove (heard), Spotted Fly & Tree Creeper + the usual woodland mix. #birds#birdingWales
A fab day yesterday on the Blorenge and around the Nant Llanelen with @ahop305; Wheatear, Willow warbler, Tree Pip, Redstart, Pied Fly.
Then 3 of the 4 Dotterel at Cwm Cadlan, Penderyn today. Thank you @rhosvw and others for location #birds#birdingWales
Hello fellow birders. Would anyone fancy conducting this yearโs @BBS_birds in my square in Llancillo (10 mins drive from Abergavenny). Itโs a lovely two transects with farmland, woodland and river. Iโm unable to due to illness. Happy to chat more if youโre interested
A lovely (if very cold!) afternoon with @ahop305 along the estuary south of Aust. A single brief Shortie sighting (which I missed!) but a dozen or so other ticks for the new year.
@mattthesparrow @jpparadise242 Thanks Matt. Have found you on Bluesky. Iโll still be on Twitter for now but trying to migrate to BS as fed up of all the trash that appears on my Twitter feed now. Think many others feel the same.
Great work by @RSPBLeightonM
I do miss it there. Contrast this with the management of @RSPBNewport by @NatResWales - viewing screen (to the right of info board in pic from this week) completely overgrown! How hard is it to trim back and install a few trays?
