The Golden State Valkyries are preparing to build their roster for their debut season, and they won't have to look far for talent. Bay Area native Angel Jackson would be a fantastic addition.
At 6-foot-6, Jackson has been a top rim protector in women's college basketball over the last two seasons, ranking 10th in the 2022-23 season and rising to 4th in the 2023-24 season. During her time at Jackson State, she averaged (9.2) points, (6.9) rebounds, and (2.7) blocks in just 23.5 minutes per game. She spent her first three collegiate seasons at USC.
After college, Jackson was selected in the third round of the 2024 WNBA Draft by Las Vegas but was unfortunately cut during training camp.
Throughout her last two seasons, she put on some impressive performances, including games against Mississippi State (20 points, 12 rebounds, 5 blocks), Texas Tech (14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks), #3 UConn (13 points, 2 blocks), and Kansas State (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 blocks).
