Grand Mufti of Uganda Commends NIRA for Efficient National ID mass enrolment & Renewal exercise

As-Salaam-Alaikum. His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, has expressed profound appreciation for the ongoing #NIDMassRenewalUg and #NIDMassEnrollmentUg exercise, describing it as a critical step in Uganda’s journey toward ensuring legal identity for all.

Following his own successful National ID renewal process, which took less than six minutes to capture biometrics, after presenting his pre-registration application ID. @MuftiMubaje commended the efficiency and dexterity of the system deployed by NIRA.

He specifically praised the pre-registration portal ( https://t.co/Ul9RPZ4WKb) and the use of additional  biometric technology that captures the iris, fingerprints, and digital signatures, making identity forgery extremely difficult.

In his appeal to Ugandans across the country, the Grand Mufti called upon all citizens, of all ages, regardless of religious affiliation, to actively participate in the mass enrollment and renewal exercise.

The mass registration campaign is currently being rolled out at parish level nationwide from Monday to Saturday, and includes special provisions for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, persons with disabilities, and expectant mothers.
