#Bengaluru: Rowdy Kadamba goes on a knife rampage, injures five; police launch manhunt.
An allegedly drunk Kadamba, after an argument with his family, left his house and first attacked a pani puri vendor after an argument escalated. He then stabbed three others who tried to intervene. Later, he slashed a biker’s neck for not taking a turn as per his demand.
A police chase ensued, during which he attacked a security guard inside a building before escaping towards Hoskote. Kadamba, a habitual mobile thief, was previously under a rowdy sheet and released on a ₹1 lakh good behaviour bond.
Meanwhile, a false rumour about a serial killer has gone viral on social media. DCP East D Devaraja speaking to @TheSouthfirst debunked the claims and warned of action against those spreading panic. The police have registered five cases and intensified the search for Kadamba.

#Karnataka Health Minister @dineshgrao has said that the report which claims that the detected #HMPV case in India is the first of its kind, which is inaccurate.
"HMPV is an existing virus that has been circulating for years, and a certain percentage of people are affected by it annually. It is not a new virus. The infant in this case has no travel history and is from a local area, not linked to China, Malaysia, or any other country," said Rao.
While reports from China suggest their outbreak might involve a new variant of HMPV, we don’t yet have full details. The Indian government is likely gathering more information as well.
He added it’s important to note that HMPV is not new. It typically causes common cold-like symptoms, such as cough and fever, and is a self-limiting virus that resolves on its own. Referring to this as the "first case" in India is misleading and an inaccurate representation of the situation.
