My family is originally from Karatiyya, a small village northeast of the Gaza Strip, which was attacked, depopulated and leveled in 1948. I lived and grew up in a refugee camp west of Khan Younis.

Some 75 percent of Gaza’s population are refugees, whose right of return yo homes and lands from which they were forcibly displaced was never realized.
