@_TrashyMammal_@KelechiOpara@JadenPMcNeil@SarahHuckabee Here are the per capita numbers. You can pick out 300 White, Asian & Hispanic households and still have less receiving benefits than 100 Black households.
Furthermore, which races do you think PAY for all of this? I know for a fact that Asians contribute way more than they take.
You would never see Republicans make a campaign ad like this about black people addicted to EBT cards and Section 8 housing, that's why I can't take it seriously. Young white men are the one group it's easy to kick down at and scapegoat, but they don't receive government welfare. Young white Christian patriotic American men are the most hardworking, productive, and persecuted demographic.
@KelechiOpara@JadenPMcNeil@SarahHuckabee lmao you got the per capita answer first and it didn’t fit your narrative? Kelechi do you know what per capita means, and why it’s important in this conversation?
It’s great that you left this “statistics data”, but try harder to interpret the meaning & implication.
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck okay well I’m glad you think free will is at least a gray area.
yeah I’d agree that we are MOSTLY slaves to the processes of our brain.
I see free will as a muscle that you have to exercise. And even then you only have control of .1% of your destiny. But .1% is better than 0%
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck if being convinced is not a choice, isn’t this discourse pointless?
what you’re saying makes it sound like we’re all just passengers along for the ride, that we have no free will at all. Is that correct?
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck so basically you weren’t able to instantly change your belief, but after some thoughtful introspection you changed your belief.
who convinced you to change your mind? You convinced yourself. You made a choice.
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck I figured you were a deconvert, based on how much vitriol you have for religion.
your deterministic viewpoint shows how much faith you place in cause and effect.
I don’t know what caused you to stop believing, and I’m not trying to make you believe. Whatever happened, I’m sorry
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck I have an EE degree, I understand electricity too. You’re limiting your scope again.
the “knowledge” you speak of is simply cause & effect. You have faith in cause and effect.
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck we’re talking about belief here, not reality.
yeah, world tough & cold, I get it.
my question is how does choosing to believe in nothing serve you? Does it simply make you edgier on the internet?
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck …you do believe the light will go off. Why else would you flip the switch?
why is it that atheists can’t accept that we don’t know what happens after death.
what is the logic in taking the stance that “there’s nothing after death” rather than saying “I don’t know”?
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck anyways, you’ve clearly taken the stance that there’s nothing after you die.
The question is, how does that serve you? What’s the logic in holding that belief?
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck my point is that there’s a logical reason to believe, absent literally dying. (Fear)
we can’t prove one way or the other if there is an afterlife.
it’s just strange to me how you call those with faith stupid, when you have absolute faith that there’s nothing after this life.
@LordFluffyBuns@Robot_E_Lee@CollinRugg@robbystarbuck well that kind of ruins your whole “religion is about fear of death and control” argument then, doesn’t it?
seems like Ben is running towards the beauty of Christianity, rather than running away from the fear of death
