“Fifty-four years ago, in 1971, my grandmother Katharine Graham, publisher of The Washington Post, risked everything to stand up to a corrupt president. That president sought to destroy her newspaper’s autonomy. Today, faced with another such president, Jeff Bezos, the paper’s new owner, is tearing down the very newspaper she defended.”
When the President decides photojournalists can’t take pictures at Sec’y Hegseth’s Iran briefings, it’s not a small thing. We’re connecting the dots to the larger efforts to erode our 1st Amendment rights, just when we need them the most. https://t.co/yYzOy0eBzp
Exercise is good for our bodies, but the reasons behind why and how are still being studied.
“Basically, you will extend your life if you exercise,” Dr. Euan Ashley, a professor of genomics and cardiovascular medicine at Stanford University and chair of its Department of Medicine, told Horizons host @WmBrangham.
Ashley is a part of a massive, decade-long multi-site investigation into how and why exercise changes our bodies at the molecular level.
“It turns out that just a few minutes improvement in sleep, a few minutes of exercise a day and a little improvement in your diet can add a whole year of life to your life,” he said.

ICE and CBP agents seem to enjoy gratuitously breaking glass—from car windows to store fronts to homes. It’s an expression of unchecked power and dominance: “We’re in charge. We break and shatter what we want.”
And nights of broken glass have been a harbinger of worse to come.

These are the tactics Nazi Germany used, and they are still being used today, now by this administration, to the American people and the world. #DemsUnited
Seven years after the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the world is being asked to forget what happens when governments decide reporters are disposable—and to turn away from what that precedent means for all of us.
If you’re noticing muscle loss while losing weight on a GLP-1, you can take matters into your own hands by focusing on your protein intake, staying hydrated and starting a strength training program. https://t.co/OyQLqVKvt1

The idea that multivitamins just create "expensive urine" is a myth that's been put to rest by several large randomized controlled studies.
A simple multi (i.e., Centrum Silver) has been shown to improve multiple domains of cognitive function in older adults.
It's a very low-cost intervention to support healthy brain aging. Micronutrients matter.
America is under siege by a relatively small group of men and women, who have made their move in the open at the proverbial noon hour. These men and women are domestic enemies of the US Constitution.
It is time to name them as such. They are.

Harvard researcher Dr Sarah Fortune was only two years away from creating a vaccine that could have saved the 1.25 million people killed each year by tuberculosis. But last month, she received a letter telling her that the $60 million grant funding her research was being halted by President Trump.
BREAKING: Donald Trump and MAGA Health Secretary RFK Jr. get nightmare news as a super-coalition of Attorneys General from 19 states and D.C. band together to sue the administration over its "unconstitutional dismantling" of the Department of Health and Human Services.
And it gets even better...
"This administration is not streamlining the federal government; they are sabotaging it and all of us," said New York Attorney General Letitia James.
"When you fire the scientists who research infectious diseases, silence the doctors who care for pregnant patients, and shut down the programs that help firefighters and miners breathe or children thrive, you are not making America healthy – you are putting countless lives at risk," she added.
The mega-lawsuit demands that RFK's so-called "restructuring" be stopped because it has resulted in the destruction of the agency and the dissolution of crucial life-saving programs.
Under Kennedy, the agency has been carrying out mass layoffs and compacted 28 agencies into 15 while closing half of HHS's regional offices. The result is a crippled agency incapable of tending to the needs of the American people or properly preparing for the future.
The lawsuit points out that the firings were particularly targeted at workers from "disfavored work and programs" including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Given Kennedy's anti-vax positions and anti-science beliefs, this should not be surprising.
"In its first three months, Secretary Kennedy and this administration deprived HHS of the resources necessary to do its job,” the Attorneys General wrote. "The terminations and reorganizations happened quickly, but the consequences are severe, complicated, and potentially irreversible."
The suit alleges that the administration has violated hundreds of laws in its slash-and-burn approach, undermined and circumvented Congress, and "trampled the constitutional separation of powers."
Arizona California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia are all involved in the suit.
