The biggest difference is simple:

On X, you join their platform.
On UBNet, your ENS domain joins a decentralized network.

There is no traditional account to create. Your ENS domain is your identity, your wallet proves ownership, and you connect without an email or password.

But decentralization goes much deeper than wallet login.

UBNet is not one central node that everyone depends on.

UBNet is built as a propagating network. Independent nodes can connect to the network, communicate with other nodes and propagate information across the network.

That means UBNet can grow beyond one website or one server.

Someone can run another node.
A developer can build another interface.
A community can operate its own access point.
Those nodes can participate in the same wider network and propagate information between one another.

That is fundamentally different from X.

With X:

X owns the servers → X controls the network → users exist inside X.

With UBNet:

Independent nodes ↔ Independent nodes ↔ Independent nodes

Information propagates across the network instead of the entire network being one company's private database.

And this is where Unblocked Profile fits in.

ENS is your identity.
Unblocked Profile is an interface for that identity.
UBNet is the decentralized network connecting those identities.

Another developer can build a completely different interface and still interact with the same network.

IPFS is no longer just websites and files.

Media is moving onto content-addressed storage. Your track, your video, your catalog gets a CID — a fingerprint of the actual bytes. Not a server. Not a label’s bucket. Not a platform URL that dies when the account does.

Producers are waking up to what that means: ownership.

Upload the master to IPFS. You hold the CID. You decide who pins it, who streams it, who pays. Token-gate the drop. Use x402 so playback and retrieval pay the owner — not a middleman skimming the cut. The profit stays with the person who made the work.
That is why the old stack is nervous.

Studios and platforms don’t just sell distribution. They sell control. When producers can host, gate, and collect on their own content, the margin and the leash both start to break. So the pressure is moving to the easy on-ramps: public gateways, pinning services, “convenient” upload buttons. The gates are closing. Literally — the gateways are closing.

Pinning services help a lot of people get started. Use them while they work. Don’t confuse them with freedom. If your only copy lives behind someone else’s pin and someone else’s HTTP front door, they can still throttle, drop, or hide you.

The real power is simple and hard at the same time:
Run nodes. Pin your own CIDs. Serve your own media.
If enough producers and listeners do that, nothing sits between the work and the public except the protocol. We’re not there yet. That’s the gap.
