I don't know my twitter password. I won't be logging back in after I delete it. I'm more than likely going to hang myself at some point in the future. I'll leave my daughter but she doesn't need a father like me. I'm sick. I can't be there for her.
@pennywrenn I read your article.about suicide. It helped me but it didn't/can't shake these thoughts out my head. I'm 29 and don't know if I'll make it to 30. I want to and DONT want to. Anyway, thanks for the article.
@4wondersClothes@VICE It cripples our self esteem even if we don't know it on a surface level. Not having our fathers (who most likely didn't have theirs--cycle continues) who teach us how to be men, who teach our girls what to demand in a man; respect, intelligence, self worth, responsibility
@4wondersClothes@VICE It all ties in.
I fell victim to violence and trying to be a gangster and all that bullshit when in reality, I was inadvertently blinded from my own passion that basically drove my creativity.
@4wondersClothes@VICE Knowing where you come from, having a positive image of yourself from an early age, having that reinforced through the media/school/peers/etc. helps MASSIVELY. We (black people) largely grow up still experiencing subjugation
@4wondersClothes@VICE I'm not a scholar. I can't tell you THE only reason why. All I can say is: having the only history you know about your ancestry is that you come from slavery and before that, just jungle-dwellers, it kind of creates a lack of self love. For you, and for people who look like you.
@nycgirllauren @pixyrue Yo I had no idea about the origin of "oops" thank you for the knowledge ๐ช๐ฝ The last thing I want to do is be that asshole that knows and doesn't do better, let alone the ignorant guy who never even knew
@TyroneBiggums8 @pixyrue Omari, you're a smart brother for not using it. That's great. I'm 29, and STILL trying to extract it from my vocabulary. My only defense is Detroit made me like this lol
His name is Stephon Clark. He lived with his grandparents & siblings. Stephon was carrying a cellphone - in his own backyard. The police apparently thought it was a weapon and shot him 20 times. 20 times. Killed him.
Stephon was 22. His whole life ahead of him. Horrifying. ๐ https://t.co/zjkjDDSb5O
@BlairImani @VICE This shit really pissed me off...I done seen way too many dead black bodies on the ground in Detroit for me NOT to say something. Shit is PREPOSTEROUS
