@eijunami Outcomes tell you whether the result is good or ass. Proccess explains why that outcome is smelling like shit. And more importantly these are issues that have been in shais game for the last 3 years. notice how his best series is when they let him go 1v1 the whole time.
@cmonChuckk I agree, especially when teams play more systematically to maximize wins in a regular season, while not building wrinkles that sustain vs counters because they generate weaker PPP vs rs impact models, but in the PS shot quality goes down anyway. Idk why teams deny this
I feel like shais performance this series is less of a slight toward his ability as an all time player, but reflects a greater issue in modern sports analysis due to regular season inflation.
@francistennn I think also conceptually, Shais best performances are reliant on a scheme where you're forced to defend him 1v1. hes not a guy who turns into a flamethrower like kobe, or warps like luka, hes just incredibly consistent based on coverage. both consistently good or terrible.
I honestly feel that even the idea of player "rise" and fall being tied to Box score slashes with a per 75 and a rTS% is so lazy to grasping the level of series a player had, and how impactful they actually are. The outcomes are manipulated by the proccess, all the time.
the lack of passing threat becomes more concerning when it inherently limits his scoring. the amount of possesions where a basic gap dig or a semi hedge on the pnr leads to the possesion ending in a reset and forcing cason wallace or other thunder players to attack, is a problem.
Initally we talked about teams being inflated due to this rs method of maximizing their impact vs teams not consistently scheming for them running formulaic offenses...But I think alot of what shai prepares for in the regular season breaks down in the playoffs vs non 1v1 coverage
I want to get a broader understanding of what the appeal of Caleb Wilson as a franchise player in the NBA? Im incredibly high on his defense, and he has solid play finishing indicators, but anything beyond that feels like noise. I do want pushback though. Let me know.
@NxtDeterio You're misunderstanding the point( which they said below in the comments). Rap is arguably ( closer to inarguably) the most diverse genre of all time. The fact we can say don toliver, kendrick lamar, osamason, and tribe called quest all rap is a clear example.
@JoeMama158710 He'd look better btw. More spacing inherently boosts any elite on ball drivers from the 80/90s, especially when he was doing 30 on plus 10 vs double big lineups with his teammates in the paint while being guarded by all d defenders in man.
@painnshow He hasn't even performed to the level of 05 or 06 playoff wade despite having a better fit cast around him 2 years in a row. He inherently is a much weaker passer, defender, and lacks the resilience wade has shown, not hypothesized.
Is the battle to put him over kobe and wade done, or does the inflation of offensive output in the regular season still blind us to an imaginary ceiling he could "potentially" hit. Hes still all time, he'll just never touch the top 3 SG, even for peaks.
@erstimus61614 Its MJ, kobe, Wade. Thats probably not gonna change anytime soon. I also appreciate your interest in my work, im planning to start up some projects soon :)
@automaticnba@depressedjokfan 2023 finals vs Miami: 21 and 10 on 45/38/93 splits, 2025 vs the clippers, 23 6 and 6 on 49/40/90 splits, 2023 vs PHO:25/7/5 on 45/36/92 splits. lets real lol he still got stinkers but cmon now
