There are only a handful of people who can truly say they changed the industry they worked in. #Bharathiraja was one of them. A fearless maverick with absolute confidence in his craft. Ignored conventions, rewrote rules and changed grammar. The OG. Thanks for making movies.
Introducing #Bharathiraja Sir as an actor is one of the wackiest idea of Maniratnam Sir

#BharathiRaja Sir ♥️🎶🙏🏻
For me, Bharathiraja Garu will always remain one of the most influential filmmakers Indian cinema has ever seen.
He brought a completely different sensibility to cinema, giving voice to forgotten people, social realities, caste divides, women’s struggles, and deeply human emotions with remarkable honesty. His films never felt distant from the people, they felt like life itself.
Whether it was Seethakoka Chiluka, Jamadagni, or the unforgettable emotions of Mudhal Mariyadhai and Karuthamma, Bharathiraja Garu’s cinema always carried the pulse of real people.
I have always admired how he could capture an entire emotion or social reality within a single frame. He also had an extraordinary eye for talent, introducing artists who went on to become some of the biggest names in Indian cinema.
Today, we bid farewell to a legend whose vision and contribution will continue to inspire generations.
Heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers.
Om Shanthi 🙏
His films beautifully showcased the soul of rural Tamil Nadu, but really those villages could be from anywhere in South India. Perhaps this is what made his films popular among non Tamil audiences.
The way he dealt with human emotions, conflicts, societal participation and prejudices, it rarely missed its mark.
Not to forget the beautiful songs in his movies that had amazing music and unmatched lyrical value. The simplicity, the honesty and the versatility in his craft will forever remain etched in the history of Indian cinema.
Go well Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja.
