केंद्र सरकार ने महंगाई भत्ते (DA) के 50% होने पर ग्रेच्युटी तो 25% बढ़ाकर 20 लाख ₹ से 25 लाख ₹ कर दी लेकिन इसी नियम में HRA के मामले में लीपापोती कर दी। जबकि इसी आधार पर HRA भी 9%, 18%, 27% से बढ़कर 10%, 20% और 30% होना था। लेकिन इसमें 50% पार करने की बात की जा रही है। इसका मतलब यह हुआ कि सरकार ने 6 महीने के लिए इस बढ़े हुए अमाउंट को बचा लिया है। क्योंकि अब DA जुलाई में ही 50% को पार करेगा। अजीब बात है एक ही नियम को ग्रेच्युटी और हाउस एलाउंस में अलग अलग तरीके से परिभाषित कर दिया गया।
