“That confirms this account can’t actually help. I’ve had multiple phone calls with Customer Relations that were never followed up on in writing, and no one can tell me a timeline or status. This has gone on for 2 months with no resolution, so I’m filing a formal complaint with the DOT and disputing this with my card issuer.”

Updates since my last message:
• The $25 travel credit mentioned to me was never actually reflected in my account.
• I received a $49 refund for a flight that costs $250-300 for the same route, on the same dates, in every scenario I’ve checked.
• Priceline says American issued that $49 amount as the refund. American says Priceline needs to process it. I am stuck between both of you with zero resolution.
• I was also told Uber expenses would be reimbursed — now I’m told they can’t be.
I should not be responsible for resolving a dispute between an airline and a booking platform when the disruption was caused by your delayed flight. This back-and-forth is not a customer’s job.
I’m not asking for anything unreasonable — just a fair refund reflecting the actual cost of the flight I had to rebook, and clarity on who is actually responsible for issuing it.
@AmericanAir
“Under review” for how long? It’s been 2 months. I need a specific timeline and a named point of contact — not another generic response.
To be clear on what’s outstanding: the $25 credit was never applied, the $49 refund doesn’t reflect the actual flight cost (~$250-300 for the same route/dates), and I was told Uber reimbursement would happen and then told it wouldn’t.
If this isn’t resolved by 7 days out, I’ll be filing a formal complaint with the DOT and disputing the charge with my card issuer.
@AmericanAir And it’s been 20 days yet no response from them other than reply to this post. Just by replying to a post doesn’t mean issue is resolved @AmericanAir. This is ridiculous.
Since the customer support was doing no good had to take this opportunity.

My initial flight was delayed, which caused me to miss my connecting flight. The alternative flight that was reassigned to me was not suitable for my schedule and, more importantly, would have caused me to miss an important business meeting. As a result, I was left with no reasonable option but to arrange alternative transportation at my own expense in order to reach my destination on time.
I have since been provided with a $25 travel credit. Respectfully, this compensation is entirely inadequate considering the circumstances. Practically speaking, it is not possible to purchase a flight for $25, and this amount does not come close to covering the inconvenience, disruption, and out-of-pocket expenses I incurred due to the delay.
Additionally, the experience has been extremely frustrating because I have repeatedly been directed back and forth between the airline and the third-party booking provider, with neither party taking clear ownership of resolving the issue. As a customer, I should not have to bear the burden of navigating between multiple parties when the disruption was caused by the delayed flight.
Because of this situation, I am requesting:
A refund for the affected flight.
Reimbursement of my Uber transportation expenses, which were incurred solely as a result of the delay and missed connection.
A review of the compensation provided, as the $25 travel credit does not reasonably reflect the impact of this disruption.
I can provide all supporting documentation, including Uber receipts and booking details, upon request.
I would appreciate your prompt review of this matter and look forward to a fair resolution.
@myckee80@AmericanAir@AACenter Didn't ask for your travel advice, sweetie. The system allowed it, I booked it, and that's the end of your involvement in my life. ✌️
