In January 2018, 22-year-old Brock Meister was involved in a serious car accident after his vehicle flipped because of icy roads.

The impact of the crash resulted in the rupture of all ligaments connecting Meister's skull to his spinal cord, causing an "internal decapitation." Importantly, his neck did not fracture despite this.

It took months of rehabilitation but Brock Meister recovered from the harrowing ordeal.
