GOT7’s Park Jinyoung to return as a singer… solo comeback set for May

Singer-actor Park Jinyoung is ramping up preparations for a new album, aiming for a comeback this May.

According to his agency BH Entertainment on March 19, Park Jinyoung has recently been focusing on his next album work and preparing for his comeback. While continuing a busy schedule, carrying out drama promotions, filming, and music work in parallel, expectations are gathering about what kind of musical color he will present through this album. He is also planning to directly participate in lyric writing for this album to increase its level of completion.

Recently, Park Jinyoung has been receiving global viewers’ attention by depicting a youth romance together with Kim Minju in ‘Still Shining’. The series proved its global success potential by ranking 7th in Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Shows immediately after release. The two delicately portray the narrative of a pure first love that becomes light in each other’s lives, giving deep resonance to viewers.

Park Jinyoung has established himself as an “icon of first love” by digesting diverse characters in various works such as ‘Yumi’s Cells’ and ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’. Additionally, in ‘100 Days of Lies’, scheduled to air in the second half of this year, he will take on the role of an elite interpreter, foreshadowing another acting transformation.

He has also steadily continued his music activities. As a member of GOT7, Park Jinyoung, who has led vocals and performance, has completed the team’s lyrical color with his emotional tone and delicate expressiveness. With his 2021 single ‘DIVE’ and 2023 solo EP ‘Chapter 0: WITH’, he explored deeper emotions and more personal storytelling, firmly establishing his path as a solo artist. He continued this with last December’s digital single ‘Christmas Fever’, which warmly captures the excitement of the holiday season.

Park Jinyoung, who has built his own filmography while crossing between music and acting, is drawing attention as to what new story he will tell through this new album. He is currently in full preparation for his comeback, and the detailed release schedule will be revealed later on.

OP’s chance encounter with Jinyoung on the Busan subway 🤭

👤 “Just now on the subway, the guy sitting next to me was handsome (even my dad said he’s handsome – I was directly knocked speechless by how handsome he was, wanted to crawl into a hole). The point is, the more I looked, the more he looked like Park Jinyoung!!”

👤 “After we got off the train, we were so thrown off by this handsome guy that we even lost our sense of direction – it was hilarious.
Later, when we looked at the photos, the more we looked, the more he looked like Park Jinyoung.
If it turns out he’s not, I’m apologising in advance – birdies, please don’t get mad. I’ve always been kind of face‑blind anyway.
Contestant 1, my sister: Nah, it’s cos she only just finished watching OUS recently. Plus she was sitting across from the handsome guy (⬅️👤 if she’d recognised him at first sight I’d believe it… but this, I’m not buying)
Contestant 2, my friend: It IS him!!! You can tell just by the ears.

Oh, and these were all shots my sister took of me – she just happened to catch him in the frame. I only cropped and zoomed in; I didn’t directly take pictures of him. I swear I’m not a creep… seriously!!”

👤 “But… he smelled really good. I wasn’t trying to sniff him on purpose”

👤 “His face is really suuuuuuper small……”
👤 “Dad (poked me once I sat down): 👉🏻👍🏻
Me: Yep, saw that”

- got7’s title song concept is a softer/milder “never ever”
- title track is not jaebeom’s song
- choreography difficulty is moderate
- the album has 9 songs
- there’s a song about got7 and ahgase’s present(?)
