Advocating for forgiveness of the advance Medicare loan payments made to hospitals in response to COVID-19.Tell Congress to support #ForgivenessForTheFrontlines
Nursing schools across the country will be forced to close down because of Congress’ lack of support. It’s stunning at this point in a pandemic that most all of Congress can leave hospitals and communities more vulnerable and less prepared.
Congress had an opportunity to help nursing schools throughout the country with a simple amendment to the deal that has just been announced and they failed to do so. Leaving our hospitals even more strained financially at a time when capacity is up across the board from COVID
Congress has continually turned its back on our hospitals starting w/ not fixing the advance Medicare loan debacle and not giving a lifeline to nursing schools and the hospitals that fund many of those schools. All members say they support frontline workers, but don’t vote that way
Saw this letter in the @irontontribune. Could not agree more! Medicare for all and the public option are a bad idea.

@realDonaldTrump@SpeakerPelosi @senatemajldr have a responsibility to millions of hospital workers and our healthcare system. This isn’t political. It’s common sense. Let’s bring our stages back, but not forget about those who keep us healthy and safe. #forgiveness4theFrontlines
Many members of Congress and the Senate are our pushing the #SaveOurStages act. Which is certainly a worthwhile and important endeavor. But most of those same members aren’t willing to stop hospitals from closing down and frontline workers from being laid off in a global pandemic
Hospitals were told to shut down and stop their elective surgeries. They obliged & told they’d be made whole by many members of Congress and the administration. Months later and only a small portion of losses have been covered. Hospitals facing financial ruin.
During a global pandemic, it is critically important that we invest in access to health care & ensure hospitals can continue to provide urgently needed care in every community across our region. I’m proud to support the #COVID19 Hospital & Health Provider Loan Forgiveness Act.
GNYHA thanks @RepJeffries for cosponsoring the COVID-19 Hospital and Health Provider Loan Forgiveness Act. This important bill will help hospitals by forgiving the high-interest, short-term #Medicare loans they relied upon during the #COVID19 crisis.
As Congress negotiates the phase four #COVID19 relief bill, hospitals continue to face huge financial losses. Text HELPHOSPITALS to 52886 to tell Congress to include our key hospital priorities in the next COVID-19 relief bill: https://t.co/Oarehd3NXc
