Black Liberation Alliance condemns the US and Israel's military airstrikes on Iran. These airstrikes are unilateral violations of international law.
Trump has declared these are ‘major combat operations’ which have led to retaliatory strikes from Iran.
This now risks escalation into a regional war.
Whilst Britain has denied the US the use of British foreign airbases to launch strikes against Iran, at least 28 US military flights have operated from airbases in the UK and Cyprus in recent days.
Britain is complicit in these attacks on Iran. We must demand that the British government keeps its hands off Iran and pressures the US and Israel to cease their military action.
We urge all to join the emergency anti war demonstration today outside Downing Street at 3.30pm.
The Black Liberation Alliance condemns the imperialist US attacks on Venezuela in the strongest terms.
The airstrikes and subsequent kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro & Cilia Flores, Primera Combatiente, are part of the ongoing attempt at regime change in the region.
We condemn the crass remarks by Prime Minister Keir Starmer and join the demands for the British government to condemn the US attacks as the violation of international law.
We urge all reading from Britain to take the following actions:
Attend the demonstration at Downing Street tomorrow - Monday 5th January at 6pm.
Email your local MP to condemn the attacks using the template: https://t.co/VE2lPSsdGm
🚨We utterly condemn the military aggression against Venezuela ordered by Donald Trump — an illegal and dangerous US regime-change operation against a sovereign nation.
Follow @VenSolidarity for details of emergency actions.
One year since we stopped the far right riots. It’s time to reclaim our streets again.
#OTD last year, tens of thousands of people stood up to the racists in Walthamstow and around the country. This weekend, we have to take to the streets again. Join us #standuptoracism
Sabby Dhalu Co-Convenor of Stand Up To Racism addresses the massive antifascist demo in Islington : ‘If we can push back fascists in Epping, we can push them back anywhere - we need to challenge racism whether from the govt or the far right - unite against racism!’
Mohammed Kozbar Chair of Finsbury Park Mosque at Islington demo : Refugees risk their lives to come here because we interfere in their countries! The far right target Black, Muslim, Jewish & Irish communities - they will come for others when they are finished with us!
Diane Abbott MP at Islington antiracist demo: we say to racists & fascists ‘they shall not pass! London was built by successive waves of migrants - and we won’t be fooled by politicians who pander to racism and fascism’ #StandUpToRacism#RefugeesAreWelcome
A govt that stepped up racism in response to Reform UK, meanwhile failed to deliver for victims of Windrush scandal, has no authority on the issue of racism. Rank hypocrisy for Labour to suspend @HackneyAbbott while taking no action against Starmer echoing Enoch Powell (1/3)
Announcement of @HackneyAbbott suspension happened on same evening as another anti-refugee racist riot erupted outside the Bell Hotel in Epping Forest. Nothing said on riot. This govt has lost its bearings on racism. (2/3)
Different communities experience different types of racism. All of it must be rooted out of society. Our job is to unite all these communities & all opposed to racism against all forms of racism. Our President @HackneyAbbott agrees with us. (3/3)
🚨SAVE THE DATE 🚨 MARCH AGAINST FASCISM - UNITE VS TOMMY ROBINSON 🗓️ SAT 13 SEPT
‼️Fascist Tommy Robinson has been released from prison & announced a national mobilisation in London. We must mobilise & unite the broadest counter demo against this #StandUpToRacism
One year on from the election of a Labour govt dangerous concessions to the far right on racism, Islamophobia and immigration, have gone from bad to worse – as have the opinion polls, writes @SabbyDhalu SUTR Co-Convenor for @LabourOutlook
