31,516 rape cases were reported in India in 2022, roughly 1 every 16.7 minutes.

Rajasthan: 5,399.

UP: 3,690.

MP: 3,029.

And these are only registered cases. Under-reporting of sexual violence is a documented concern.

Imagine the map if every case actually made it to an FIR.

Months ago in Nalanda, a woman was publicly assaulted. Eight accused were arrested:

Ashok Yadav, Matlu Mahto alias Navneet Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Ranjan Kumar, Dashrath Chaudhary, Shailesh Kumar, Doman Paswan, Sonu Kumar.

Now Jamui. Three accused arrested so far: Mithilesh, Pramod, Golu Kumar.

Different victims. Same Sanghi ideology. Same disturbing pattern.

They know they’ll get away with it, and may even be protected or rewarded, because political protection shields them from consequences.

In India, a woman’s dignity shouldn’t depend on whether her humiliation goes viral.
