A Pepecoin price quote is one number. The Blocks view is the explorer's read on what the network's been doing.

Select Pepecoin, then open Blocks in the Explorer section. The four charts there show what a price quote can't - the network's recent history:
→ Difficulty - how hard it is to find a valid block under the proof-of-work target. The chart is the trend over time; for a single block's figure, open that block and read the difficulty it reports.
→ Hashrate - a rough estimate of how much Scrypt hashing is securing the chain. It's not a headcount of machines: Pepecoin is merge-mined, so the same work can secure another compatible chain at the same time.
→ Active addresses - an address-activity line. Read it as addresses, not people or verified users, and hold it loosely - the page doesn't spell out what counts as "active."
→ Block fee - a fee-history line. The page doesn't define how each point is calculated. For a specific block, the table's "Total fee" column gives that block's total; open the block to see the individual transactions and their fees.

That's the split worth keeping: the charts are the chain's recent history, and any single block's page is the receipt for that one block - height, hash, timestamp, size, weight, its reported difficulty, and the transactions and fees inside it.

None of it is a verdict. One data point, one wiggle in a chart, one odd block - that's not a diagnosis, and nothing here on its own says the chain is fine or in trouble.

Pepecoin is a chain, not a dress code.

None of these chains started blank. Pepecoin was created around Pepe the Frog. Dogecoin took its identity from the Doge meme. Bellscoin goes back to Billy Markus's Animal Crossing tribute, named for the game's Bells currency - he later said he'd even pictured it as payment in a marketplace for virtual goods.

Those aren't tags someone stuck on a neutral chain later. They're real identities, and they matter - part of how a community knows itself, and how a newcomer knows they're in the right room. Worth honoring.

But an identity isn't a rulebook. Having a mascot doesn't mean every inscription on the chain has to wear one.

For someone making things, a chain is more like paper than like a painting style. Paper doesn't ask you to draw a frog. It'll hold a poem, a diagram, a photo, a doodle - and none of them are "less paper" for leaving the mascot off.

And what makes something a Pepecoin inscription isn't the picture. It's that the data is written into one or more Pepecoin transactions and read back by an inscription indexer that follows the protocol's rules. Encode a landscape, a generative piece, a short story, a bit of code the right way, and each gets recognized exactly like frog art. The subject was never the qualification.

The trouble only starts when the mascot quietly turns into a rule - an unspoken sense that work here should look a certain way. That keeps the space smaller than it could be, and it discourages the writing, the generative art, the experiments that would show the chain is bigger than one image.

Keep Pepe. Keep the Doge. Keep the Bells. They're part of each chain's identity, not a fence around what you're allowed to make. A chain can have a mascot or founding theme and still be a place where anything gets made.
