I’ve carried things I rarely speak about, outgrown versions of myself, made mistakes, and learned some lessons the hard way. Not every season was easy, but somehow, I kept going.

Grateful for the journey, the growth, and the person I’m becoming.

🎙️ FABIAN HÜRZELER — POST-MATCH INTERVIEW AFTER BRIGHTON 3-0 ARSENAL 🔵⚪️🔥

Journalist: Fabian, congratulations. Brighton have just beaten Arsenal 3-0. How are you feeling after such a performance?

Hürzeler:
I’m extremely proud. Not only because we won 3-0, but because of how we won the game. Arsenal are a top team, they came here with a very strong record, and we knew we would have to be brave, disciplined and aggressive.

From the first minute, our players showed incredible belief. We didn’t want to sit back and simply wait for Arsenal. We wanted to play our football, press them, win the ball high and attack with purpose.

Journalist: Your players looked extremely confident today.

Hürzeler:
Yes, and that confidence comes from the work they do every day. Bart Verbruggen was excellent in goal. When Arsenal created opportunities, he was calm and gave us security.

Lewis Dunk showed his experience. Luka Vušković was very mature, especially considering his age. Olivier Boscagli and Ferdi Kadıoğlu also worked extremely hard defensively.

And then you look at the midfield — Pascal Groß was fantastic. He controlled the tempo, showed leadership and gave us quality when we needed it. Diego Gómez and Yasin Ayari also covered so much ground.

Journalist: Pascal Groß scored again. What can you say about his performance?

Hürzeler:
Pascal is incredibly important for us. His football intelligence is exceptional. He understands where the space is, when to slow the game down and when to accelerate it.

His goal was important, but his overall performance was even more important. He led the team with his personality and quality.

Journalist: Charalampos Kostoulas also scored. What did you make of him?

Hürzeler:
Kostoulas was outstanding. He worked relentlessly, pressed Arsenal’s defenders and gave them problems throughout the game. His goal was the reward for his hard work.

He is still developing, but he has qualities that can make him a very important player for Brighton.

Journalist: And Chema Andrés came on and scored the third. What a moment for him.

Hürzeler:
It was fantastic. Chema deserves a lot of credit. To come into a game like this and score against Arsenal shows his mentality.

But I don’t want to talk only about the goalscorers. This was a team performance. Everyone contributed.

Malick Yalcouyé worked incredibly hard. Maxim De Cuyper gave us energy. Diego Gómez was aggressive in the midfield. Yasin Ayari was brave with the ball. Ferdi gave us intensity. Everyone understood their role.

Journalist: Was 3-0 the result you expected?

Hürzeler:
You never expect to beat Arsenal 3-0. You respect your opponent. Before the game, we knew Arsenal had quality in every area of the pitch.

But we believed in ourselves.

Our pressing was very important. We have worked a lot on our counter-pressing because we believe it is one of the foundations of our football. Today the players executed it extremely well.

Journalist: What does this victory say about Brighton?

Hürzeler:
It says we are growing.

We are not satisfied with simply competing. We want to challenge ourselves against the biggest teams and show that Brighton can play with courage against anyone.

But this is only one game. We have to remain humble, recover and continue working.

Tonight, though, the players deserve to enjoy it. Beating Arsenal 3-0 at the Amex is a special moment for everyone connected with this club. 🔵⚪️

Journalist: Finally, what would you say to the Brighton supporters?

Hürzeler:
Thank you.

They pushed us from the first minute until the final whistle. When you hear the stadium like this, you feel something special.

This victory belongs to the players, the staff and the supporters.

Today was Brighton’s day. ❤️‍🔥
