Look, we’ve protested on so many issues but this Galamsey issue, it’s a proper national emergency. The effects are so severe, when it starts happening, nobody will be safe. Heavy metal poisoning is nothing to joke about and that’s where we’re headed. In food, in drinking water, in bathing water. You have no way of verifying where your drinking water; from the tap, sachet or bottle is coming from. You have no way of truly verifying how thorough the purification process was. At some point no purification process will be enough. This is a national emergency.
