This article used in my research paper does a great job of describing the attitudes of those who are eager to deport immigrants in the United States.

I love this article titled "Mass Deportation, Counterproductive?". My favorite quote from the article states that "[w]e’re almost handicapping the future by making [the immigrant] population even more vulnerable” through unethical deportations (Swift).

I think a problem we face with immigration today is that ICE tends to categorize and stereotype all immigrants and overlooks individual circumstances as revealed here.
Every incarcerated person has their own story: Loved ones and family who miss and care for them. When you hear ICE demonizing someone because of their record, look beyond the label. Let’s humanize, not criminalize.
Thousands of families still separated.
Thousands of dreams still on hold.
Thousands of people still impacted by the Muslim & African Bans.
When will the harms of these bans finally & fully be addressed?

A bigger hurricane season means more workers are needed.
That’s why it’s important to extend worker protections, because we’re going to need all the help we’re going to get. https://t.co/122xnjn2fp

It is upsetting that immigrants seeking asylum have been and continue to be denied asylum in the United States. This article highlights the dire situation Venezulenas are in right now.
A4 I think the most common problems in today's society deal with social justice and lack of equality for all. I think as Sacred Heart graduates we can take from the goals of Sacred Heart and have a "social awareness which impels to action". #sensemchat
@mia_cesare@DJGreen2021 I agree with this statement Mia and I think Civil Disobedience is the best way to demonstrate one going against a law in order to highlight its flaws. #sensemchat
@AlanaFrederick_@DJGreen2021 Hey Alana! I like how you highlighted that oppression taps into the "deepest part of human injustices" and I agree with that statement. #sensemchat
A3 I think oppression is the diminishing of one's ideas, thoughts, actions, and even existence. Oppression affects physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual states as one suffers injustice. #sensemchat
A2 Yes, as Dr.King notes in his Letter From Birmingham Jail, "an individual who breaks a law that [...] is unjust, and who [...] accepts the penalty [...] in order to" expose "its injustice, is, expressing the highest respect for [the] law" and civil disobedience. #sensemchat
@AlanaFrederick_ I love your idea, Alana. As Dr.King highlights in his Letter From Birmingham Jail, "injustice is here" and through non-violence, King and his supporters are trying to highlight just that. #sensemchat
