Apple Day is an annual celebration of apples and orchards, held in October.
It traditionally falls on 21 October, the date of the first such event in 1990 in Covent Garden.

Why South Africa celebrates “Spring Day” on 1 September?
It’s pretty simple. Basically, for simplicity. Back in 1780 an international group of meteorologists decided to break the year up into four quarters, each one starting on the first of a month.
In 2018 South Africa exported 2 million tonnes of citrus. It is often hard to explain just how much fruit this is - and so we have turned to infographics. In 2020 this volume is predicted to hit 2.15 million tonnes. This is a lot of fruit!!
