(Battambang): On Wednesday (Dec. 24), students fled in panic after Thai invading forces deployed fighter jets to drop four bombs near Phnom Sampov in Banan district, Battambang province, an area located approximately 100 kilometers from the border.

Small children were separated from their parents. Young schoolchildren fled from their schools. Elderly people abandoned their homes, workplaces, and shops. These were among the most horrifying and heart-wrenching scenes experienced by Cambodian civilians, following an act of aggression in which the Thai Royal Air Force launched deep-penetration attacks reaching Battambang Province on 24 December 2025. #Thailandviolateinternationallaw

Japanese Ambassador Offers Sympathy to Displaced Families, Pledges Support for Those Affected by Barbed Wire
BANTEAY MEANCHEY—Japanese Ambassador Ueno Atsushi recently visited Prey Chan and Chok Chey villages in O' Bei Choan commune, where he witnessed firsthand the barbed wire construction by the Thai military to barricade the road, forcing Cambodian families to be displaced.
Ambassador Ueno expressed sympathy for affected families and stressed the importance of peaceful dialogue in resolving border disputes, reiterating Japan's commitment to peace and stability in the region.
On August 22–23, a delegation of 63 diplomats, UN agencies, and international organizations, led by Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, visited the affected provinces. Their program includes inspections of barbed wire installations and other conflict-affected areas. SOURCE CAMBODIANESS
